A fastening mechanism that comprises an actuator, a fastening device attached to a distal end of the actuator, and a device coupler, wherein the fastening device is pivotally attached to the device coupler.

Fastening device and related methods of use

A medical device may include a handle, a sheath fixed relative to the handle, a longitudinal actuator movable relative to the handle, an end effector, a member extending proximally from the end effector through the sheath, with a portion of the member being fixed relative to the longitudinal actuator, and a rotation actuator. Movement of the rotation actuator may cause rotation of the member relative to the sheath, and movement of the longitudinal actuator may cause longitudinal movement of the member relative to the rotation actuator.

Rotatable snares and related methods

A snare may a loop at a distal end of the elongate member and defining an inner area. The loop may have an inner surface facing and exposed in the inner area, wherein a first section of the inner surface has an edge sharper than a second section of the inner surface.

Snare design for improved traction

This invention is directed to a medical device having an elongate shaft having a distal end and a controller coupled to the shaft. A control member can extend through at least part of the elongate shaft and at least part of the controller, wherein the control member in a tensioned configuration can be moveable by the controller to control the distal end of the shaft and the control member can be slack in an untensioned configuration. A tensioning mechanism can be configured to move relative to at least one of the elongate shaft and the controller to tension the control member and automatically lock the control member in the tensioned configuration.
