A socket contact includes a main body extending along a longitudinal axis between a mating end and a terminating end of the socket contact. The main body has a first side and a second side. The main body has a front and a rear extending between the first side and the second side. The socket contact includes a contact tail at the terminating end configured to be terminated to a circuit board. The socket contact includes a mating socket at the mating end. The mating socket includes a first beam and a second beam opposite the first beam. The mating socket includes a third beam longitudinally offset from the first beam and longitudinally offset from the second beam.

Socket contact for an electrical connector

A coaxial connector assembly includes a connector module having a connector body having contact channels holding coaxial contacts and a mounting frame defining a passage having a recess that receives the connector body. The mounting frame has a pocket open to the recess and a backing plate removably received in the pocket. The backing plate is coupled to the mounting frame to at least partially block the recess. The mounting frame includes blocking surfaces and the backing plate includes a blocking surface defining a confined space oversized relative to the connector module to allow a limited amount of floating movement in the confined space in a lateral direction that is perpendicular to the mating axis.

An electrical assembly includes a backshell having a coupling nut defining a cavity and a cable follower received in the cavity and extending rearward from the coupling nut. The cable follower has a plurality of rearward extending spring fingers extending to distal ends and being tapered inward to the distal ends to define a generally conical shaped cable channel configured to receive a cable. The spring fingers are deflectable and are spring biased against the cable in different radial directions to provide a clamping force against the cable and to substantially center the cable in the cable channel. The electrical assembly includes a retention feature coupled between the cable follower and the coupling nut allowing the coupling nut to be rotatably coupled to the cable follower such that the coupling nut is rotatable relative to the cable.

An electrical connector includes a shell having a cavity and a wafer assembly received in the cavity. The wafer assembly includes a wafer housing holding a plurality of electrical wafers configured to be electrically mated to a mating connector. The wafer housing has a front end and the wafers extend forward from the front end being arranged parallel to each other within the cavity. Each wafer includes a first edge and a second edge with at least one trace between the first and second edges. An interfacial seal is provided along the front end. The interfacial seal is configured to seal between the electrical connector and the mating connector. The interfacial seal provides an environmental seal for the wafer assembly.

An electrical contact is provided for an electrical connector that is mounted on a printed circuit. The electrical contact includes a mating segment having a mating interface configured to engage a mating contact of another connector. The electrical contact also includes a tail segment having a mounting interface configured to be mounted to the printed circuit. An intermediate segment extends between and interconnects the mating and tail segments. The intermediate segment includes a base wall extending a length from the tail segment to the mating segment. The intermediate segment further includes a side wall extending outwardly from the base wall along at least a portion of the length of the base wall. The side wall extends outwardly at a non-parallel angle relative to the base wall for affecting at least one of an impedance, an insertion loss, or a reflection of the electrical contact.

An electrical connector system includes a header connector that includes a header housing and a header contact. The header housing includes a header base and a header shroud extending from the header base. The header base includes a header contact opening. The header contact is held by the header base within the header contact opening. The system also includes a receptacle connector configured to mate with the header connector. The receptacle connector includes a receptacle housing and a receptacle contact that engages the header contact when the header and receptacle connectors are mated together. The receptacle housing includes a receptacle base and a receptacle shroud extending from the receptacle base. The receptacle base includes a receptacle contact opening. The receptacle contact is held by the receptacle base within the receptacle contact opening. The receptacle contact opening has a common size and shape to the header contact opening.

Housing base for an electrical connector

An electrical connector system is adapted for placement into a recessed space defining a raceway formed in a floor of an aircraft having an open region. The electrical connector system includes a first connector and a second connector connectable along a first axis. A frame is provided. The first connector is selectably movable in the frame along the first axis in response to movement of a frame portion, with the second connector being constrained by the frame to resist movement along the first axis. Movement of the frame portion permits selective engagement and disengagement between the first and second connectors, the frame portion being accessible from the open region.
