Vacuum producing appliance and associated food and beverage holding vessels, the vacuum producing appliance with a hollow housing, the housing enclosing a vacuum pump, a pressure switch, a vacuum holding tank, a solenoid valve, a power switch, and associated tubing to attach the components to each other. A conical shaped concavity built into the bottom of the housing capable of drawing air from a vessel and passing it through the vacuum. A plurality of vessel sealing lids interact with the vacuum producing appliance, said lids having a convex conical shape at their top surface that can interface in an air tight way with a mating concave conical shape located in the main housing, the lids having a check valve that allows air to leave the lid but not reenter it. The lids are capable of interfacing in an air tight way with the mouth of a jar, bottle, can or the like so that a vacuum can be drawn in the jar, bottle or can. A plurality of unique food or beverage holding vessels such as a serving tray, a tumbler, a soup bowl, an ice cream bowl or the like, each vessel being of double walled construction and each said vessel being fitted with the convex conical interface and the check valve so that the vacuum producing appliance can interface with the food or beverage holding vessels and cause a vacuum to be created within the inner and outer walls.

Vacuum producing appliance

A fully adjustable lounge chair with an independently adjustable back support member, thigh support member and foot support member. A support pole for each of the support members attaches at its lower end to a horizontally disposed push bar. A rolling pinion gear is rigidly attached to each end of a shaft supported within the push bar so that the pinion gears reside at each end of the push bar. A pair of parallel rack type gears mate with the rolling pinion gears. A motorized screw type linear translation mechanism pivotally attached to each of the push bars causes the support members to raise and lower. 'U' bracket type hinge members attach each support pole to the underside of each of the back support, thigh support and foot support members. A pair of shafts and associated pivotal hinge points attachs the back and thigh support members to a pair of vertically disposed support plates. A hinge point attaches the thigh support to the foot support so that there are no gaps between said support members regardless of the adjusted angle of the support members. A pair of cylindrical sockets located midway along the side rails of the back support are capable of pivotally holding arm support members. A pair of slidable and lockable channels allows the user to adjust the length of the thigh support member. A preferred embodiment includes a plurality of independent cushions including lumbar support, spine support, neck support, pelvic support and hip supports all capable of being removably attached and adjusted with respect to the back support member.

Fully adjustable lounge chair

An exercise apparatus with a plurality of infinitely adjustable resistance mechanisms, a flat horizontal platform having a plurality of sockets located about its perimeter capable of receiving the resistance mechanisms and a pair of smaller arm sized platforms, also containing sockets, rotatably pinned to the main platform. The resistance mechanism has a constant force spring that allows a nylon cable to retract quickly and has a belville spring washer that increases resistance on the retractable cable as a tension knob is turned clockwise. A ratchet plate allows resistance to be felt on the outward pull of the cable but no resistance to be felt on the inward retraction of the cable. A ring member attaches to the nylon cable is capable of acting as a hand grip or a foot retainer.

Variable resistance exercise apparatus

An article of manufacture for causing a ball point pen cartridge and associated tip to automatically extend from its housing when an actuator switch located at the front end of the pen housing is pressed by the user's finger. The pen tip and associated cartridge automatically retract when the user releases the pen. A D.C. motor coupled to a gear reduction assembly inside the pen housing causes an attached threaded sleeve to rotate within a stationary nut within the housing thereby driving the pen assembly forward or backward depending on the polarity of the electrical supply to the motor. Limit switches within the housing cause the pen assembly to stop at the proper locations. An alternate embodiment of the design substitutes a non-moving, conductive switch that operates on skin contact instead of a moving, mechanical type actuation within a standard electrical switch.

Electro-mechanical writing implement

A non-electric hand held massaging device for massaging a persons hands, arms, feet and legs. The device consists of a pair of opposed rigid rollers, each with a plurality of resilient protrusions radiating outwardly from the surface the rollers. The rollers terminate in shafts which are held in tracks located on either side of the rollers. A circular handle surrounds the tracks and rollers making it convenient for a user to hold the device in a variety of positions. A pair of elastic cords is located in the hollow space formed inside the track portion and the handle portion. The elastic cords terminate in shaft holders which connect to the shaft ends of the rollers. The elastic cords are placed in such a way as to create a spring tension between the two rollers so that when a user inserts his or her hand or foot between the rollers, he or she receives an invigorating massage caused by the action of the many resilient tips of the roller surface impinging of the users skin. A removable cover located on the top of the track and handle same allows the user to adjust the spring tension and to remove and replace the rollers.

Hand held massaging device with biased rollers

An improved viewing system for lap top computers with a first reflective surface member, a hinged holding bracket for the first reflective surface member, a second reflective surface member, a pair of second brackets to hold the second reflective surface member. The hinged holding bracket is capable of fitting behind and wrapping around the screen housing of the lap top computer and is comprised of a flat plate terminating at each end in a hinged triangular shaped plate, each said triangular plate having a pair of raised ribs capable of receiving the corner of said first reflective surface member. The second brackets are capable of being affixed to the top edge of said lap top computer and have upwardly angled ribs capable of receiving the bottom edge of said second reflecting surface member. The first and second reflective surface members are positioned in such a way that the user of said lap top computer can see the image generated on said lap top computer screen in the second reflective surface member which is at a higher viewing angle than said lap top screen thereby reducing the chance of neck fatigue and potential discomfort of the user.

Viewing system for lap top computers

A sun reflecting device capable of reflecting sunlight off of a mirror through a window and onto the ceiling of a room. The mirror holding assembly is adhered the outside of the window by suction cups or other mounting structure. The mirror is capable of changing angles by adjusting the height of a pair of lead screws which are attached to the underside of the mirror by universal joints and terminate on a support platform. A central post also supports the mirror and is attached by a universal joint. The lead screws are driven by stepper motors. A photosensor array is mounted to the inside of the window and an auxiliary mirror which is attached to the main mirror reflects sunlight on to the photosensor array. A microcontroller circuit responds to the photosensors' input and sends signals to the stepper motors so that the mirror is maintained in an ideal position to reflect sunlight to the chosen spot on the ceiling.

Sun reflecting device

A liquid or lotion container and dispensing device having a liquid bottle with a reservoir, a pump, and a liquid dispensing point. The pump forces liquid from the reservoir out the liquid dispensing point. The liquid bottle also has a supporting assembly. The supporting assembly supports the liquid bottle and allows the liquid bottle to pivot relative to the supporting assembly, and/or allows the liquid bottle to be detached and reattached to the supporting assembly.

Liquid dispensing device

A combined toe and finger nail clipper having a common metal strip with a toe nail cutting edge at one end and a finger nail cutting edge at the opposite end. Mating nail cutting edges are at the ends of two additional metal strips which are each welded above and below at opposite ends of the common metal strip. A pair of vertical retaining posts located at each end of the nail clipping unit hold lever arms which can be stored in the flat position or rotated around and put into the use position as in conventional nail clippers. In this way a manufacturer can produce a combined toe and finger nail clipper more economically than two separate nail clippers and the user can store the combined nail clipper in a smaller space without worrying about locating two separate clippers. The clipper can be constructed so that while one of the clippers is in use the cutting edges of its other are closed or only slightly open so as to avoid the corners of the cutting edges catching or scratching a finger of the user.

Combination finger and toe nail clippers

An upper body exercise device designed to be used by a person while walking. The device consists of a belt to which a pair of cables is attached. The cables are retractable and roll up automatically, via a spring reel assembly, onto spools located within a pair of handgrips. The user grasps the handgrips and pulls outwardly while walking. The force required to pull the handgrips outwardly can be increased or decreased by turning an adjustment knob located on the outside of each handgrip. The adjustment knob causes a frictional force to be exerted on the cable spool making it easier or harder to pull the cable out. Straps are provided on each side of the belt to store the handgrips when not in use. Obviously the device of the present invention may also be used while in a stationary position or while jogging.

Upper body exercise device

A headrest includes a cushion attached to the front of a rigid back. A pair of arms slidably extend from the sides of the rigid back. The ends of the arms are pivotable to an orthogonal portion for clamping to a seatback. The hook portion of a hook-and-loop fastener is attached to the inner side of each end of the arm for grabbing the looped fabric on the seatback. A pair of keyhole-shaped sockets are arranged on opposite ends of the rigid back. An arm is inserted into one of the sockets, and a side bolster is pivotally attached to the arm. The cushion supports a head in a neutral position without requiring the user to lean back, and the side bolster restrains the head from falling to one side. The angle of the side bolster is adjustable for conforming to a leaning head. In a second embodiment, the headrest includes a cushion removably positioned in a recess on a housing. A cylindrical rod extending from a side bolster is inserted into one of a plurality of holes arranged on opposite ends of the housing. The headrest is attachable to a seat with a single strap.

Portable headrest

A combined toe and finger nail clipper having a common metal strip with a toe nail cutting edge at one end and a finger nail cutting edge at the opposite end. Mating nail cutting edges are at the ends of two additional metal strips which are each welded above and below at opposite ends of the common metal strip. A pair of vertical retaining posts located at each end of the nail clipping unit hold lever arms which can be stored in the flat position or rotated around and put into the use position as in conventional nail clippers. In this way a manufacturer can produce a combined toe and finger nail clipper more economically than two separate nail clippers and the user can store the combined nail clipper in a smaller space without worrying about locating two separate clippers.

An improved motorized foot massager having three pairs of massaging modules. Each pair of massaging modules is comprised of a centrally located motor and gear reduction assembly and a left and right set of massaging cams. Each cam set is comprised of a plurality of horizontally disposed shafts, each shaft having a plurality of off set cams. The front pair of massaging modules is intended for the toes and ball of the foot. The middle section is intended for the arch area and the Rear section is intended for the heal portion of the foot. The front and rear section are slidable and lockable so that the unit can be adjusted to a particular persons foot. A cloth housing covers the rotating cams to prevent a users toes from being pinched by the rotating cams. The center, arch massaging modules are able to be raised or lowered to accommodate for an individuals arch height. A heal guide attached to the rear massage modules helps a person place his or her foot in the proper location. An additional motor with off center weight mounted to its shaft is mounted to the main base which caused the entire unit to vibrate if so desired.

Motorized foot massaging device

A device for holding a pillow in a convenient manner consisting of a pair of flexible poles connected at one end by a resilient rubber strip. At the other end a spring loaded retaining ball captures the pillow between the two poles. A second ball shaped handle is connected to an internal cable and when the ball is pulled it releases the retaining ball allowing the device to come out and the pillow staying in the pillow case.

Device to assist the changing of a pillow case

A vehicle antenna accessory includes a main body for fitting on top of an antenna. A display panel with graphics arranged thereon is pivotally attached to the main body. A wing is attached orthogonally to the display panel. When the vehicle is parked, the display panel provides an easily visible identification for the owner looking for his or her vehicle among many other cars. When the vehicle is in forward motion, wind pushing against the wing causes the display panel to 'fly' to a horizontal position to provide an eye-catching effect.
