A friction drive transmission includes a drive pulley having an engaging face, a tip plate that supports the drive pulley and is configured to pivot about a pivot axis that is parallel to an axis of rotation of the engaging face of the drive pulley, and a friction ring that drives an axle. The friction ring may contact the engaging face of the drive pulley and may be moveable relative to the engaging face of the drive pulley to transition between forward rotation and reverse rotation. When the friction ring moves into a reverse rotation position for reverse rotation of the axle, the tip plate may pivot, with the drive pulley, about the pivot axis from a first position into a second position. The first position may be different from the second position.

A powered device may include an engine, a mobility assembly operably coupled to the engine to provide mobility of the powered device responsive at least in part to operation of the engine, a working assembly operably coupled to the engine to perform a working function responsive at least in part to operation of the engine, and a key-operated combination ignition and speed control assembly including switch circuitry configured to control both starting the engine and selection of different selectable positions corresponding to respective different operating speeds for the engine.

A snow removal device may include an engine assembly operably coupled at least in part to a frame of the snow removal device. The snow removal device may further include a mobility assembly operably coupled to the frame and the engine assembly to provide mobility of the snow removal device responsive at least in part to operation of the engine assembly. The snow removal device may even further include an ejection assembly that includes a chute for ejecting material from the snow removal device, and a handle assembly that includes a lever assembly. Moreover, the snow removal device may also include a chute rotation assembly operably coupled to the chute of the ejection assembly. The chute rotation assembly may include a cable system, the cable system operably coupling the lever assembly to the chute rotation assembly. The chute rotation assembly may also include a disc clutch assembly configured to move between an engaged position and a disengaged position in response to actuation of the lever assembly, where when the disc clutch assembly is in the disengaged position, the chute is enabled to rotate between a plurality of positions.

A replacement mobility assembly for a walk-behind, powered device () may include first and second drivable components, a mobility assembly frame, and an adaptation assembly. The powered device may be provided with an original mobility assembly () that is to be removed from coupling with a drive assembly and a chassis () of the powered device prior to installation of the replacement mobility assembly. The first and second drivable components may each be of a different type than corresponding drivable components of the original mobility assembly. The first and second drivable components may be operably coupled to the mobility assembly frame. The adaptation assembly may be configured to enable the mobility assembly frame to be operably coupled to the chassis and the first and second drivable components to be operably coupled to the drive assembly.

A walk-behind, powered device includes an engine, a chassis configured to support the engine, a mobility assembly including a mobility assembly frame, a working assembly operably coupled to the engine to perform a working function responsive at least in part to operation of the engine, a control panel operably coupled to the chassis and comprising a control operator, and a height adjuster. The mobility assembly frame is configured to pivot relative to the chassis. The working assembly has a fixed orientation relative to the chassis. The height adjuster is configured to control positioning of the chassis relative to the mobility assembly frame based on a length of the height adjuster. The length of the height adjuster is changeable based on positioning of the control operator.

Bucket height control system

A drive assembly for a walk-behind, powered device operably couples an engine of the powered device to a mobility assembly to provide mobility of the powered device responsive at least in part to operation of the engine. The drive assembly includes a transmission shaft and a short turning assembly. The transmission shaft selectively receives drive power operably coupled from the engine to drive a first drivable component and a second drivable component of the mobility assembly. The first and second drivable components are disposed substantially at opposite sides of the powered device. The short turning assembly is configured to cause both disengagement of drive power and activation of braking to the first drivable component while drive power is provided to the second drivable component.

A drive assembly () for a walk-behind, powered device operably couples an engine () of the powered device to a mobility assembly () to provide mobility of the powered device responsive at least in part to operation of the engine (). The drive assembly () includes a transmission shaft and a mechanical power reversing assembly (). The transmission shaft selectively receives first drive power or second drive power coupled from the engine () to drive a first drivable component () and a second drivable component () of the mobility assembly (). The first and second drivable components () are disposed substantially at opposing sides of the powered device. The mechanical power reversing assembly () is selectively engagable to convert the first drive power generated for the first drivable component () into the second drive power provided to the second drivable component () and vice versa.
