A portable air compressor including an air tank configured to store compressed air. The portable air compressor further includes a compressor unit coupled to the air tank including compressor components for compressing air, and a housing having a base disposed generally between the compressor components and the air tank. The base has a concave recess extending at least partially around a circumference of the compressor unit. The portable air compressor further includes a power cord for supplying power to the compressor components. The power cord is receivable around the circumference of the compressor unit in the recess for storage.

A modular garage door opener system and method including a garage door opener having a motor that is configured to be coupled to a garage door to open and close the garage door. The garage door opener includes a first accessory port including a first accessory mounting interface and a second accessory port disposed on the garage door opener including a second accessory mounting interface. An accessory device including a first mounting interface engages the first accessory mounting interface to couple the accessory device to the first accessory port. The accessory device may be disengaged from the first accessory mounting interface and then engage the second accessory mounting interface to couple the accessory device to the second accessory port. Additionally, a second accessory device may engage the first accessory port after disengagement of the accessory device.

A tool for removing an interchangeable cooking insert from a grill has a handle end and an engagement end. A handle extends from the handle end toward the engagement end. A support arm extends from the handle toward the engagement end. The support arm has a first lateral edge defining a first lifting hook and a second lateral edge defining a second lifting hook. The first lifting hook and second lifting hook are configured to engage a portion of the cooking insert. A support pin extends across the support arm between the first lateral edge and the second lateral edge. A latch member is pivotally coupled to one of the support arm and the handle. The latch member includes a first end selectively engageable with a portion of the cooking insert and a second end extending through the handle for actuation of the latching member by a user.

A power tool includes a housing having an intake aperture, a fan disposed within the housing and operable to draw air through the intake aperture, and a fan intake shield positioned adjacent the intake aperture. The fan intake shield includes a first rib, a second rib adjacent the first rib and spaced from the first rib to define an air flow path into the intake aperture between the first rib and the second rib, and a third rib adjacent the first rib and spaced from the first rib to define an air flow path into the intake aperture between the first rib and the third rib. Each of the first, the second, and the third ribs has a respective height, and the height of the first rib is greater than the height of the second rib and the height of the third rib.

An air compressor includes a compressor unit having a motor with a motor housing, a pump operably coupled to the motor and having a pump housing formed as a single piece with a portion of the motor housing, and a first tank fluidly connected to the pump to receive pressurized air from the pump when operated by the motor. The air compressor also includes a tank unit removably coupled to the compressor unit in a stacked arrangement. The tank unit includes a second tank fluidly connected to the pump to receive pressurized air from the pump when operated by the motor.

A hood assembly for converting a surface planer between at least two operative modes for expelling chips removed from a workpiece being planed is provided. The hood assembly includes a manifold that is releasably attachable to the carriage assembly. The hood assembly also includes a hood door that is actuatable between at least two operative positions relative to the manifold, thereby providing at least two operative modes for expelling chips from the planer.

An orbital sander is provided having a number of novel features including a high speed permanent magnet DC motor having a relatively flat rpm versus torque curve. The sander includes an AC to DC power supply, a remotely located on/off switch operated by a switch actuator bar extending transversely through the housing enabling the operator to actuate the on/off switch by alternatively pushing opposed ends of the actuator bar. The orbital sander further includes a fan having non-uniformly spaced blades, eliminating the need for a conventional counterweight, and a dust outlet adapted to be alternatively connected to a dust canister or alternate size collector vacuum hoses.

A hand-held power tool is provided with a housing, an attachment member, and an object sensor that is removable from the attachment member. The attachment member may be removable from the tool. The object sensor, which can be used to detect studs hidden behind walls, electrical lines, and other materials, is readily accessible to tradesmen.
