Methods of modulating the immune response using pharmaceutical compositions containing crystalline adjuvants are described. In various embodiments the crystalline adjuvants are selected from the group consisting of monosodium urate (MSU), xanthine, basic calcium phosphate (BCP), calcium pyrophosphate dihydrate (CPPD), hydroxyapatite, calcium oxalate, cholesterol, lipid liquid, other crystalline lipids, lithium heparin, talc, and starch.

Endogenous adjuvant molecules and uses thereof

Antibodies that bind to a 40 kDa protein which is expressed on tumors, but is not expressed on normal adult hemopoietic cells are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for production and the use of such antibodies.

Methods and compositions for the treatment of sterile inflammation

Illustrative compositions include one or more anti-ganglioside antibodies and polynucleotides that encode such anti-ganglioside antibodies. These antibodies may be for example, hamster antibodies, chimeric human/hamster antibodies, or humanized antibodies. The disclosed compositions are useful, for example, in the treatment of cancer and can be used to induce apoptosis in a cancer cell.

Methods of identifying compounds for the treatment of sterile inflammation

A dock bumper for minimizing damage to a back of a vehicle upon contacting a low-lying object may include a generally-rigid shock-absorbing member to be secured adjacent to a back portion of the vehicle. The shock-absorbing member may include a distal surface extended away from the back portion of the vehicle to contact a surface of a loading dock as the vehicle is operated in reverse, and a proximate surface positioned to contact a structural member at the back portion of the vehicle. A modular step may be coupled to the shock-absorbing member to dissipate at least a suitable portion of a force exerted on the step to minimize damage to the structural member contacting the proximate surface of the shock-absorbing member.

A wireless control system can be used to selectively adjust the position of a liftgate platform with respect to a vehicle cargo hold. The wireless control system includes a transmitter for use in transmitting a wireless control signal, a receiver that receives the wireless control signal transmitted by the transmitter and communicates a corresponding control signal to an actuation device to adjust the platform and, a transmitter detection system that prevents the actuation device from operating unless the transmitter is positioned in a predetermined location.

Wireless liftgate control system

A cable for conducting electric current from a source receptacle to a load receptacle. The cable includes a primary cord including an electrical conductor with a first terminal end and a second terminal end, and a ground cord including an electrical conductor for establishing an electrical connection between a circuit including the cable and ground. A first plug is adapted to conduct the electric current between a contact provided to the source receptacle and the first terminal end, and a second plug is adapted to conduct the electric current between the second terminal end and a contact provided to the load receptacle. At least one of the first plug and the second plug is compatible with a single-prong receptacle.

The present invention relates to various methods of genetic immunization for the purpose of providing antigen-specific immunity in a mammalian host, including a human host. The invention is based on the ability to direct particulate polynucleotides which express an antigenic protein or protein fragment to the cytoplasm of host target cells, such as antigen presenting cells. A directed delivery of such particulate polynucleotides to the cytoplasm of antigen presenting cells will stimulate antigen-specific CTL production, thus promoting destruction of affected cells such as neoplastic cells and virally infected cells.
