Various embodiments monitor compliance with standards for conducting rounds within corrections facilities and assist in maintaining safe corrections facilities by identifying predictable rounds patterns and encouraging inmate monitoring through unpredictable rounds timing. Some embodiments generate scores indicative of randomness in conducting rounds by individuals, groups, and even an entire staff of corrections officers.

Systems and methods for increased correctional facility safety

The disclosure relates improving correctional officer safety. A system can include a first camera facing a region of a correctional facility including monitored objects, the first camera configured to generate first pixel data including first pixels corresponding to the objects, a second camera in the correctional facility and facing away from the region, the second camera configured to generate second pixel data including second pixels corresponding to a person that approaches the region, and a server configured to receive the first and second pixel data through a network connection, transmit the received data to a recognition service through the network, and receive an alert from the alert service that indicates a monitoring rule associated with an object of the objects is violated, an identification associated with the person, a last known location of the person or the object, and an indication of the monitoring rule violated.

Officer safety using computer vision

Some embodiments process facial images to ensure the inmate present for release is the actual inmate to be released. One embodiment includes receiving a facial image and a data identifier of a person. This embodiment further includes processing the facial image of the person in view of facial image data of the person to determine whether the received facial image matches the retrieved facial image data. The facial image data may be retrieved based on the data identifier of the person, facial landmark data extracted from the facial image, or otherwise. When the received facial image and the retrieved facial image data of the person match, an indicator of a match and a successful release identity verification is output. When there is not a match, an indicator of a failed release identity verification is output.

Inmate release verification

The disclosure relates to systems and methods for compliance monitoring in a secure facility. A method can include generating, by a mobile radio frequency identification (RFID) device, data regarding a proximate stationary RFID device of stationary RFID devices situated about a correctional facility, the mobile RFID device associated with a user, and comparing, by a server, the generated data to compliance monitoring rules that govern actions to be performed by the personnel in monitoring offender behavior, each of the compliance monitoring rules including an associated timeframe in which an action of the compliance monitoring rule is to be performed, and generating, by the server, an alert to be provided to the mobile RFID device in response to determining a time associated with a compliance monitoring action has already expired or will expire in a specified amount of time.

The disclosure relates to systems and methods for automating offender documentation with facial or other recognition technique. A method can include generating, by cameras situated about a correctional facility, pixel data including first pixels corresponding to a face of a first offender in the correctional facility and an environment around the first offender corresponding to a location within the field of view of the camera, and providing, to a server, the pixel data from the cameras through a network connection, and receiving, from the server, an alert that, based on facial recognition and location detection analysis performed on the pixel data by the server, indicates a monitoring rule associated with the first offender is violated, an offender identification associated with the first offender, a location of the first offender in the correctional facility, and an indication of the monitoring rule violated.

The disclosure relates to systems and methods for tracking offender movement with RFID. Such a system can include a transponder associated with an offender and a radar module configured to determine a direction of a moving object passing within range of the radar module. The system can include a radio frequency identification reader situated near the radar module and configured to transmit an interrogating signal to the transponder and receive an identifying signal in response to the transponder receiving the interrogating signal. The system can include a server configured to receive data from the radio frequency identification reader and the radar module through a network, transmit the received data to a web service through the network, and receive an alert from the web service that a monitoring rule of a plurality of monitoring rules associated with the offender was violated.

Monitoring inmate movement with RFID

The disclosure relates to systems and methods for monitoring a headcount with RFID. Such a system can include a plurality or transponders, each transponder of the plurality of transponders associated with an offender. The system can include a plurality of radio frequency identification readers configured to transmit an interrogating signal to one or more transponders of the plurality of transponders and receive an identifying signal in response to the one or more transponders receiving the interrogating signal, the plurality of radio frequency identification readers associated with at least one programmable event, the at least one programmable event including a headcount. The system can include a server configured to receive data from the plurality of radio frequency identification readers through a network and determine if there is a discrepancy in the headcount.
