A wireless terminal communicates across a radio interface with a radio access network. The wireless terminal comprises receiver circuitry and processor circuitry. The receiver circuitry is configured to receive from the radio access network (1) slot format information comprising transmission direction configuration for each symbol in a slot for an uplink (UL) subband; and (2) validation information. The processor circuitry is configured to use the validation information to perform validation or invalidation of the transmission direction configuration for at least a portion of the UL subband.

Communications network and methods with enhanced duplex

A method for a first UE to perform sidelink communication with a second UE is provided. The method receives a first resource set from a cell to establish a first sidelink channel with the second UE, the first resource set indicating at least a first distance between the first and second UEs. The method establishes the first sidelink channel with the second UE based on the first resource set and transmits a set of parameters associated with the first sidelink channel to the cell. The method also sets a first timer based on at least the first distance, the first timer for determining when to establish a second sidelink channel with the second UE. When the first timer is expired and no second resource set is received from the cell, the method establishes the second sidelink channel with the second UE based on the first resource set.

Determining periodicity of sidelink communications within the network coverage

A method for a UE is provided. The method transmits to a second UE a first PRS in a first set of symbols of a first slot of a first BWP and determines that a second PRS is to be transmitted in a second BWP that overlaps the first BWP in the time domain. The method receives information to determine whether the second UE is capable of successfully decoding the first and second PRSs. When the method determines that the second UE is not capable of such, the method modifies a scheduling of transmission of the second PRS by identifying a second set of symbols of a second slot of the second BWP for carrying the second PRS, such that a start of a first symbol of the second set of symbols follows an end of a second symbol of the first set of symbols in the time domain.

A node of an Integrated Access and Backhaul (IAB) network comprises processor circuitry and interface circuitry. The processor circuitry is configured to make a determination concerning crosslink interference (CLI) between (a) a beam transmitted from a parent node to the IAB node and (b) a beam transmitted from the IBA node to a child node of the IAB node; and in accordance with the determination, and to generate a command configured to modify a property of the beam transmitted from the parent node to the IAB node. The interface circuitry is configured to transmit the command to a beam controller of the parent node.

A method for determining whether to attempt to attach to a network by a machine type communication (MTC) device is described. A triggering event is detected. A radio frame is received from a base station. The radio frame includes a current access class of the base station. The radio frame is the first radio frame to include the current access class after the triggering event. It is determined if the MTC device has access privileges to the base station. It is then decided whether to attempt to attach to a network based on if the MTC device has access privileges.

A user equipment (UE) that is in idle mode may receive a reference signal (RS) from an evolved Node B (eNB), obtain signal quality measurements with respect to the RS, and switch to a new CC based on the signal quality measurements. For a UE that is in connected mode, an eNB may obtain uplink channel condition information corresponding to uplink CCs, obtain downlink channel condition information corresponding to downlink CCs, and select a CC pair for the UE to use based on the uplink channel condition information and the downlink channel condition information.

In one aspect, a user equipment ('UE') terminal controls the transmission power of signals used for device-to-device ('D2D') services based on power control parameters provided by a base station. The UE terminal also includes a second power control module for controlling a second transmission power to be applied to signals used for D2D services.
