An exercise apparatus having a frame with attachments to multiple independent bidirectional resistance devices used by arms and/or legs of a user to provide resistance against movement of the user's appendages in two substantially opposed directions. The resistance devices may have a mechanism to control bi-directional resistance. The movement of the user's appendages in bi-directional resistance offers near full body exercise of agonist/antagonist muscles using flexion and extension action of larger muscle groups in a gait pattern, simultaneously. Hand engaging members attach to arm resistance devices and foot engaging members attach to leg resistance devices. The exercise apparatus may include an attached inclined backboard, mat, bench, or cushion to fully or partially support the user. The exercise apparatus may have separate height and/or length adjustment mechanisms for adjusting a range of motion of the user's appendages.

Multi-degree of freedom resistance exercise device

Modular organizer systems and components thereof are disclosed. In some embodiments, a first panel may include a plurality of elongate and parallel structural members and a plurality of bridges that are attached to, or formed with, a first portion of the plurality of structural members such that (a) a bridge spans between the first portions of each pair of adjacent structural members and (b) a cavity is defined between second portions of each pair of adjacent structural members. Bridge(s) may be sized to be received in a cavity of a second panel. The first panel may additionally include a projection assembly having a projection member and a projection bridge, which may be configured to be received in the second end structural member of a third panel. The second end structural member may include an opening configured to receive at least a portion of a projection assembly of a fourth panel.

Modular organizer systems

Golf tool devices and golf clubs having those devices attached to, or incorporated with, their grips are disclosed. In some embodiments, the golf tool device includes a housing and a tool assembly attached to the housing. The tool assembly includes a base jaw and a gripper jaw pivotably connected to the base jaw. The tool assembly additionally includes a spring connected to the gripper jaw and configured to urge the gripper jaw toward the base jaw. The golf tool device additionally includes a mode selector assembly configured to selectively switch operation of the gripper jaw between at least two modes. The at least two modes include a first mode in which the gripper jaw moves in response to urging of the spring, and a second mode in which the gripper jaw is secured in a first position that is spaced away from the base jaw against urging of the spring.

A belt-like hip-girdling pelvic sling device for maintaining a desired amount of tension surrounding a person's hips and pelvis to securely support and stabilize a fractured pelvis, including a force-controlled buckle that automatically latches to control the tension and that includes a releasable latching mechanism. The latching mechanism maintains engagement of the buckle with a strap at the required position of the strap with respect to the buckle. The latching mechanism includes a movable member of the buckle that is moved to and latched in a position in which the buckle engages the strap, once a desired amount of tension is reached, limiting and maintaining the required tension.

Disclosed are printing systems and printhead assemblies in which yellow print nozzles are paired on a die with black print nozzles, with cyan and magenta print nozzles on a separate die. The pairing of yellow and black nozzles reduces constraints imposed by the printhead architecture and manufacturing processes.

A method of one embodiment of the invention is disclosed that determines the temperature and/or firing resistance of a thermal fluid-ejection nozzle as the fluid-ejection nozzle is fired. The method determines whether the fluid-ejection nozzle ejected fluid upon firing based on the temperature and/or firing resistance of the fluid-ejection nozzle.

A fluid-ejection assembly of one embodiment is disclosed comprising first and second arrays of fluid-ejection mechanisms, first and second service stations, and first and second drive mechanisms. The first array ejects fluid onto media; the first service station is to service the first array. The second array ejects fluid onto the media; the second service station is to service the second array. The first drive mechanism moves the first array between a first position to eject fluid onto the media and a second position at the first service station, while the second array ejects fluid onto the media in place of the first array. The second drive mechanism moves the second array between a third position to eject fluid onto the media and a fourth position at the second service station while the first array ejects fluid onto the media in place of the second array.

Fluid-ejection assembly

A printhead for printing on a print media includes a column of nozzles oriented at an angle to an axis of relative movement between the printhead and the print media, and a print axis oriented substantially parallel to the axis of relative movement between the printhead and the print media such that at least some of the nozzles are variably aligned to the print axis.

Printhead orientation

An inkjet printer cartridge adapted for enhanced cleaning thereof, and method of assembling the printer cartridge. An inkjet printer cartridge comprises a cartridge body defining a chamber therein. A substrate is coupled to the cartridge body and has a hole therethrough in communication with the chamber. An orifice plate is coupled to the substrate and has an orifice therethrough aligned with the hole. A platform is coupled to the substrate and surrounds the orifice plate. The platform defines a relatively smooth surface thereon having a predetermined surface roughness for sealably engaging a cap belonging to a print head cleaning service station movable into engagement with the printer cartridge. The surface of the platform may have a surface roughness of between approximately 0.5 microinches and approximately 2.0 microinches. Moreover, the surface of the platform is also level for sealably engaging the cap.

Inkjet printer cartridge adapted for enhanced cleaning thereof and method of assembling the printer cartridge

Novel designs and methods of manufacture of ink-jet printheads capable of providing ink-droplet-tail-break-off control and preventing meniscus overshoot in order to overcome the puddling, pen directionality, and ruffle problems associated with thermal-ink-jet printing are disclosed. A printhead for use in an ink-delivery system includes a substrate that has at least one ink ejector thereon. An orifice-plate member is positioned over and above the substrate. The orifice-plate member has at least one ink-transfer bore extending therethrough. The orifice-plate member further includes: a top surface that defines a top opening for the ink-transfer bore, a bottom surface that defines a bottom opening for the ink-transfer bore, and a counter-bore in the top surface that is in fluid communication with the ink-transfer bore. The counter-bore can be: concentric or non-concentric with the ink-transfer bore, a full or partial counter-bore, and symmetric or asymmetric. In addition, the counter-bore can also be deep enough to hold the ink meniscus. Lastly, the counter-bore can smooth, round and/or provide a more uniform edge around the ink-transfer bore. By providing one or more combinations of these features, the present invention is able to control the tail break-off of expelled ink-jet droplets and/or minimize meniscus overflow.

Counter-boring techniques for improved ink-jet printheads

A closed ink replenishment system for replenishing the supply of ink in negative pressure spring-bag reservoirs in a printer/plotter. A tube runs between each cartridge reservoir and an auxiliary reservoir mounted to the printer/plotter frame to form the closed ink system. As ink is depleted from the spring-bag reservoir during printing operation, the negative pressure in the cartridge increases, drawing ink through the tube from the auxiliary reservoir into the cartridge until the negative pressure decreases to an equilibrium point. As a result, the volume of ink within the spring-bag reservoir remains substantially constant so long as there is ink remaining within the auxiliary reservoir. This maintains the print quality. The auxiliary reservoir is a flat bag mounted on a spring-biased platform, which acts as a height regulating system. As ink is depleted from the auxiliary bag, the height of the platform and bag increases to maintain a constant pressure and elevation head at the spring-bag reservoir.

An inkjet print cartridge uses at least one groove to supply ink from an ink reservoir to the fluid channel, which includes an ink ejection chamber, such that foreign particles within the ink supply are filtered out by the grooves so as not to block the fluid channel. In one embodiment, a barrier layer between a substrate and nozzle member contains the ink ejection chamber which is in communication with a plenum via a flow restrictor, such as pinch points. The nozzle member includes an array of orifices and grooves. The substrate includes two linear arrays of ink ejection elements, such as heater elements, and each orifice in the nozzle member is associated with an ink ejection chamber and ink ejection element. A plurality of grooves is likewise associated with each plenum. The plurality of grooves in the nozzle member supply ink into each plenum, which in turn supplies ink to the ink ejection chamber.

Particle tolerant printhead

Disclosed is an inkjet printhead having a substrate that includes plurality of ink ejection elements formed thereon. The printhead also includes a heat exchanger in thermal contact with the substrate. The heat exchanger has a plurality of pathways for allowing a passage of ink through the heat exchanger.

Heat exchanger for an inkjet printhead

Disclosed is an ink delivery system for high throughput commercial inkjet printing devices. The ink delivery system includes a high speed ink ejection printhead with a large number of nozzles and an ink flow design which provides for improved printhead cooling. The printhead design achieves high ink ejection rates by having a very short inlet channel length which is made possible by having nozzles with a constant distance from the edge of the printhead. In order to accommodate this constant distance from the edge of the printhead the entire array of nozzles is disposed at a angle relative to the direction normal to the scan direction. An impinging ink flow against the back of the printhead is provided to limit the temperature of the printhead. A bubble collection chamber to increase the life of the printhead and a pressure regulator to provide ink at a controlled pressure to the printhead may also be provided. Pressurized ink may be provided so that ink pressure may be properly controlled even during peak usage.
