While a mounted file system with a file system transaction logging capability is in a metadata frozen state, a file system transaction on the file system is performed, the transaction comprising a logged set of metadata updates required to implement the transaction in the file system, the performing comprising diverting the set of metadata updates from the file system to a temporary storage location outside the file system. During the metadata frozen state, a consistency check on metadata of the file system is performed, the consistency check attempting to identify an inconsistency in the metadata. The file system is recovered from the metadata frozen state, the recovering comprising implementing the diverted set of metadata updates on the file system.

An improved flushing system accessory that comprises a connector and a lubricating-fluid vessel. The connector has a threaded first intake port connected to a water supply hose, and a second intake port coupled to a non-vented bottle containing lubricating fluid. The connector further includes a threaded outlet port sized for connection to a marine engine flushing accessory. The connector has an internal chamber to draw fluid from which is divided by a partition wall into a first passageway and a second passageway. The intake and outlet ports are in fluid communication with the interior chamber. Lubricating fluid supplied by the lubricating-fluid vessel, and water supplied by a water supply hose, enter through a first and second intake port, respectively. They then pass through the connector outlet port and into an attached marine engine flushing accessory.

Some embodiments relate to wearable technology. An example embodiment includes a garment that includes a panel, a sensor, a flexible display device, and a communication module. The panel includes an outer surface. The sensor is integrated into the garment and configured to collect data. The flexible display device is integrated into the outer surface of the panel. The flexible display device is configured to receive and display data. The communication module is communicatively coupled to the flexible display device, the sensor, and a programmable device and is configured to receive data from the programmable device and sensed data from the sensor and to communicate the received data and the sensed data to the flexible display device.

A method of preparing a cyclohexasilane compound from trichlorosilane is provided. The method includes contacting trichlorosilane with a reagent composition to produce a compound containing a tetradecahalocyclohexasilane dianion, such as a tetradecachlorocyclohexasilane dianion. The reagent composition typically includes (a) tertiary polyamine ligand; and (b) a deprotonating reagent, such as a tertiary amine having a pKa of at least about 10.5. Methods of converting the tetradecahalocyclohexasilane dianion-containing compound to cyclohexasilane or a dodecaorganocyclohexasilane are also provided.

A casing shoe for a casing string that includes an annular body. The annular body includes an annular recess that forms an outer portion and an inner portion, the inner portion forming and extending into an inner bore. The annular recess can accept an end of the casing string such that the casing string extends between the inner and outer portions. The annular body includes a homogenous material. The casing shoe is used in a method of guiding a casing string into a wellbore where the casing shoe is attached to an end of the casing string. Attaching the casing string includes inserting the end of the casing string into the annular recess such that the casing string extends between the inner and outer portions. The casing string is then inserted into the wellbore.

A flushing system accessory comprises a one-piece connector and a lubricating-fluid vessel. The connector has a threaded first intake port connected to the lubricating-fluid vessel. The connector also includes a threaded second intake port which is connected to a water supply hose. The connector further includes a threaded outlet port sized for connection to a boat motor flushing aid. The one-piece connector has an end carrier chamber which is divided by a partition wall into a first passageway and a second passageway. The intake and outlet ports are in fluid communication with the interior chamber. Lubricating fluid, supplied by the lubricating-fluid vessel, and water, supplied by a water supply hose, enter through a first and second intake port, respectively. They then pass through the connector outlet port and into an attached boat motor flushing aid.

A foot mounted apparatus for measuring one or more locomotive performance parameters of a person is disclosed. Such locomotive performance parameters preferably include user vertical leap time, user vertical jump distance, user walking or running speed, user trip distance traveled, and accumulated total lifetime distance traveled by the apparatus. It is preferred that the apparatus include all of the structures of an athletic shoe such as a sole, upper, tongue, and lace. Four membrane switches are located in the sole of the footwear: a pair of membrane switches is positioned under the ball of the user's foot and a pair of membrane switches is positioned under the heel of the user's foot. The membrane switches sense the compressive pressure of the foot on the sole and detect when the foot leaves and contacts the underlying surface. A microprocessor calculates a performance parameter for the person based upon the elapsed time between the foot push off and the foot strike. A pair of pushbuttons connected to the microprocessor allow the user to change the mode of operation of the apparatus. The performance parameter which is output from the microprocessor is conveyed to the user either visually or aurally. The microprocessor and display are mounted on the footwear, preferably on the tongue of the shoe, in a water resistant housing with a long life battery providing self contained operation.

Various kaleidoscopic devices are provided which utilize removable and replaceable design inserts. The design inserts may be formed from a wide variety of artistic materials and may either be manufactured or prepared by the individual user. The use of these removable and replaceable design inserts greatly increases the viewing flexibility for the user by allowing a large number of designs to be viewed using a single kaleidoscope.

A collapsible holder for a container having a plate-like base member and a plate-like support member. The support member has a hole therethrough along an axis perpendicular to an upwardly facing surface on the base member. Yieldable force-generating structure is interconnected between the base member and the support member for continually urging the support member and the base member from a first position wherein the base member and support members are in a mutually adjacent relation with little or no space therebetween to a second position vertically spaced from each other while maintaining the upwardly facing relation of the surface on the base member. A releasable latch structure is provided for holding the base member and the support member in the aforesaid first position. Thus, upon a release of the latch structure, the force-generating structure will urge a separation of the base member and support member to the aforesaid second position. Thus, a container resting on the upwardly facing surface on the base member will extend through the hole in the support member and be encircled thereby to stabilize the container.
