Circular saw blade

An accessory for oscillating power tools includes an attachment portion with a rear end couplable to an oscillating power tool and a working portion coupled to the attachment portion and extending along a tool axis. The working portion includes a cutting edge arranged asymmetrically relative to the tool axis with a leading tooth disposed at one end of the cutting edge at a first distance from the rear end, a trailing tooth disposed on an opposite end of the cutting edge at a second distance from the rear end that is less than the first distance, and a plurality of intermediate teeth between leading tooth and the trailing tooth, each disposed less than or equal to the first distance and greater than or equal to the second distance from the rear end, the cutting edge slanted at an acute angle to a line perpendicular to the tool axis.

Accessories for oscillating power tools

A hole cutting accessory for a power-driven tool may include an arbor that provides for quick release of an annular saw blade component of the accessory, and for quick release of a pilot drill bit component of the accessory. The quick release of the annular saw blade component from the arbor may be accomplished separately from the quick release of the pilot drill bit component from the arbor.

Hole cutting accessory for power tool

An accessory for an oscillating power tool includes an attachment portion configured to be coupled to an oscillating power tool and a working portion extending generally along a longitudinal axis. The working portion has a rear end portion coupled to the attachment portion, a front cutting edge opposite the rear end portion, a first side edge extending from the front cutting edge to the rear end portion, and a second side edge opposite the first side edge and extending from the front cutting edge to the rear end portion. The working portion includes an at least partially curved surface that contains the longitudinal axis. At least a portion of the first side edge includes a first side cutting edge portion.

A circular saw blade includes a plurality of cutting teeth repeatedly alternating between a first set of cutting teeth and a second set of cutting teeth around the periphery of the saw blade. Each first set of cutting teeth includes at least two efficient cutting teeth, each second set of cutting teeth comprising at least one robust cutting tooth. Each first set of teeth and each second set of teeth are configured such that, if one tooth in the first set of teeth breaks, the chip load in the immediately following second set of teeth increases by less than approximately 45%.

A reciprocating saw blade includes an elongated blade body extending along a blade axis and having a rear end, a front end, a cutting edge having a plurality of teeth, a non-cutting edge opposite the cutting edge; and a tang coupled to the rear end and configured to be received in a blade holder of a powered reciprocating saw. The cutting edge includes inclined and declined cutting edge portions. The inclined cutting edge portion extends away from the blade axis and toward the front end at an acute first angle and extends from a first tooth to a second tooth. The first tooth is closer to the rear end and closer to the blade axis than the second tooth. The declined cutting edge portion extends toward the blade axis and toward the front end at an acute second angle that is greater than the first angle and extends from a third tooth to the first tooth. The first tooth is closer to the front end and closer to the blade axis than the third tooth.

Reciprocating saw blade

A metal cutting band saw blade has a plurality of cutting teeth defining a cutting direction, and a repeating tooth pattern of between 3 and 7 teeth. Each tooth defines a laterally-extending upper surface having a width and a height with respect to the back edge of the blade, and side surfaces extending laterally and downwardly on opposite sides of the upper surface relative to each other at acute angles relative to the upper surface. The teeth located rearwardly of the first tooth with respect to the cutting direction of the saw blade define progressively lower heights and progressively smaller acute angles of the side surfaces, and the widths of the upper surfaces of these teeth are greater than the width of the upper surface of the respective first tooth.

Multi-chip facet cutting saw blade and related method

A sheet metal hole cutter has a cap plate defining a substantially circular peripheral groove and an annular shelf extending radially outwardly from the peripheral groove. An elongated band forming an approximately circular shape with opposite ends of the band contacting each other defines a base edge received within the circular peripheral groove in an abutting relationship with an inner edge of the groove. The band defines an axial depth of about &#xbd; of an inch or less, and an outer diameter within the range of about 9/16 of an inch through about 6 inches. A weld region fixedly secures the base edge of the band to the cap plate. The annular shelf of the cap plate extends radially outwardly from the base edge of the band and defines a radial depth of at least approximately 1/16 of an inch in order to prevent over-feeding of the hole cutter through a work piece. A plurality of teeth are disposed along a cutting edge of the band, and each tooth defines a cutting surface extending between an outer edge and an inner edge of the tooth. Each cutting surface is oriented at an acute angle relative to the plane of the cap plate such that the outer edge of the respective tooth is spaced further away from the cap plate than the inner edge to thereby preferentially cut the work piece with the outer edge and create a substantially burr-free hole in the work piece.
