The invention relates to an oleaginous corrosion-inhibiting composition, and the use of said composition to protect metal from corrosion. The composition comprises, in parts by weight, from about 20 to 60 parts of lubricating oil, 10 to 40 parts of organic solvent, 20 to 60 parts of corrosion-inhibitor consisting of a sulfonic acid-carboxylic acid metal complex or a mixture of said metal complex with a small but effective amount of an oil soluble alkyl phosphate, from 0.1 to 2.0 parts of an oil soluble antioxidant, from 0.1 to 5.0 parts of a water-displacing compound and from 0.0 to 1.0 part of a metal deactivator.

Oleaginous corrosion resistant composition

The present invention relates to a cleaning composition for cleaning airct wheel wells. The cleaning composition broadly comprises from about 0.1 to about 15% of a D-limonene composition, containing less than 0.5% of a stabilizing anti-oxidant, acting as a solvent for said greasy soils, from about 0.1% to about 5.0% of a material for increasing the flash point of said cleaning composition above 140.degree. F., such as an isoparrafinic hydrocarbon solvent, from about 10% to about 50% of a mixture of linear alcohol ethoxylates having a HLB in the range of 2 to 15 as a stabilizer, and the balance water. The cleaning composition may also contain from 0.1% to about 10% capryolamphopropionate, from about 0.1% to about 15% dipropylene glycol, from about 0.1% to about 5.0% benzotriazole, and 0.1% to about 5.0% sodium bicarbonate.

Thixotropic low-solvent, non-hap wheel well cleaner

The present invention relates to a cleaning composition for cleaning airct wheel wells. The present invention relates to a cleaning composition having utility in eaning aircraft exterior surfaces. The cleaning composition comprises from about 15% to about 40% of a mixture of linear alcohol ethoxylates having a HLB in the range of about 5.0 to about 15.0, from about 5% to about 25% capric diethanolamide, and the balance water. The mixture of linear alcohol ethoxylates comprises from about 5% to about 15% of a first linear alcohol ethoxylate having a HLB in the range of about 5.0 to 9.5 and from about 10% to about 25% of a second linear alcohol ethoxylate having a HLB in the range of about 10 to 15. The cleaning composition also includes from about 0.1% to about 5% of capryloamphopropionate, from about 0.1% to about 5.0% benzotriazole, from about 0.1% to about 5.0% of an inhibitor for reducing corrosion of magnesium parts, and from about 0.1% to about 5.0% of an inhibitor for reducing corrosion of cadmium plated steel parts.

Non-solvent, general use exterior aircraft cleaner

This invention relates to corrosion-inhibiting compositions and particula to compositions capable of forming films on metal substrates to protect said metal from corrosion. The film-forming compositions which are capable of displacing moisture from the metal surface comprises effective amounts of an acrylic resin, a silicone resin and a copolymer derived from a silicone and alkyd monomers. These resins together with effective amounts of an organic phosphate and a sulfonate are used in combination with lower molecular weight alcohols and at least one solvent.

A water-displacing paint is disclosed for coating metallic surfaces in hu environments to prevent corrosion. The paint comprises controlled proportions of a silicone alkyd resin to serve as a binder and physical barrier, solvents including ethyl acetate, aromatic mineral spirits and 1,1,1 trichlorotrifluorethane for ensuring water immiscibility, a petroleum sulfonate to inhibit corrosion and aid surface absorption, and an organo-titanate of isopropyl tri-titanate to promote surface adhesion. Selected amounts of titanium dioxide and zinc molybdate are included as pigments in one effective example of the paint to provide it a white color. Alternate colors may be produced conventionally by adding standard tinting pigments in amounts sufficient to yield the desired color.
