A weight resistance training machine is provided that is used to exercise the glute muscles of a user. The weight resistance training machine includes a carriage member that a user may mount to use the training machine. The carriage member may be mounted on a track system that allows the carriage member to translate linearly when the weight training machine is used. When a foot press bar connected to the carriage member is extended, the carriage member is linear translated by a cable and pulley system to increase the muscle path length during exercise and increase the exercise's efficacy.

Push/pull exercise apparatus, device, and method

An incremental weight system enables increments of a certain standard weight size to provide selectable resistance. A selector plate having radially-displaced pins correspond to radially-displaced slots in incremental weights. The selector plate is spring biased to engage or be urged toward the incremental weights. The spring biasing may be overcome by manual effort working against the spring to remove a handle's distal end or other locking mechanism from a positioning hole or otherwise. An amount of incremental weight can then be selected with the appropriate pin engaging the corresponding slot in one of the incremental weights. An easy means is then provided by which an incremental weight can be selectably added to selector weight stacks and the like.

Therapy weight system

A safety mechanism for weightlifting devices checks the uncontrolled descent of weights and/or other structures. Using aligned or other slots, a pawl or dog is biased against the surface containing such slots. In order to operate the weightlifting device, the pawl or dog must be actively disengaged from the slots. Exercise can then occur. However, should the weightlifter's grip relax and release the release lever, the associated biasing system forces the engagement end of the dog into one of the aligned slots halting the further downward travel of the associated weights in supporting structures. An associated weightlifting device is disclosed having a latching mechanism enabling securement of the device in a lowered position.
