A combined cycle power plant that includes a gas turbine and HRSG engaged with a steam turbine via a water steam cycle having higher and lower pressure levels. The CCPP further includes a fuel line and fuel preheater. A higher pressure feedwater line delivers higher pressure feedwater to a higher pressure feedwater branch that extends through the fuel preheater, the high pressure feedwater branch including upstream and downstream segments defined to each side of the fuel preheater. A lower pressure feedwater line delivers lower pressure feedwater to a lower pressure feedwater branch. The downstream segment of the higher pressure feedwater branch is combined with the lower pressure feedwater branch at a junction point and a combined feedwater line extends therefrom. A first heat exchanger exchanges heat between the combined feedwater line and fuel line. A second heat exchanger exchanges heat between the higher pressure feedwater branch and fuel line.

Fuel preheating system for a combustion turbine engine

The invention may be embodied a valve for a combustor of a gas turbine, the valve including: a housing including a fluid inlet and fluid outlets; an actuator within the housing and movable between an open position and a closed position; a fluid path through the housing between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlets, wherein the fluid path is blocked while the actuator is in the closed positions such that fluid may not flow from the inlet to the outlets and fluid may not flow between the outlets, and wherein one of the fluid outlets is fluidly connected to a first combustion can of the combustor, and another of the fluid outlets is fluidly connected to a second combustion can of the combustor.

Liquid fuel control valve for gas turbine engine and method for controlling flow of liquid fuel to engine

A system includes a plurality of interconnected mixing assemblies configured to mix a first fuel and water to generate a first mixture, and mix a second fuel and the water to generate a second mixture. The first and second fuel mixtures are configured to combust in a plurality of combustors of a gas turbine. The interconnected mixing assemblies include first and second fuel passages, a water passage, first and second mixers, first and second fuel valves, and first and second water valves disposed in an integrated housing. The first fuel valve has a first fuel flow coefficient between approximately 1.0 to 1.5, the second fuel valve has a second fuel flow coefficient between approximately 3.0 to 5.0, the first water valve has a first water flow coefficient between approximately 0.4 to 0.55, and the second water valve has a second water flow coefficient between approximately 3.5 to 5.0.

System for turbine combustor fuel mixing

A method of purging a combustor is provided. The method includes opening an isolation valve configured to regulate a flow rate of a fluid sent to at least one fuel nozzle of a combustor. The method also includes opening a control valve located upstream of the isolation valve after opening the isolation valve, wherein the isolation valve and the control valve are located within a fluid supply line.

A clamp connector system for use with a plurality of flanged connections is provided. Each of the flanged connections includes a first hub, a first flange, a second hub, and a second flange. The system includes a first clamp connector sized to circumferentially couple about the first and second flanges of a first of the flanged connections, and a second clamp connector sized to circumferentially couple about the first and second flanges of a second of the flanged connections. The system further includes an interference feature defined on at least one of the first flanged connection and the second clamp connector. The interference feature is oriented to prevent the first flange of the first flanged connection from coupling to the second flange of the second flanged connection.

Clamped connector systems for use with piping assemblies

A method of flushing liquid fuel from valves and nozzles in a gas turbine is conducted via a mixing valve including flow passages for fuel and water. In the method, water is flowed through the flow passages, and the flow is interrupted for a period of no flow. This flow profile is repeated such that the water flow is pulsed through the flow passages.
