Hydrophilic polysiloxane elastomer

A composition comprises (A) a silicone elastomer. The (A) silicone elastomer comprises the reaction product of: (a) an organohydrogensiloxane having an average of at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule; (b) a crosslinking agent having an average of at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups per molecule; and (c) a hydrosilylation catalyst. The reaction product is formed in the in the presence of (d) a silicone polyether polymer; and (e) particles. The composition further comprises (B) a carrier fluid. The (e) particles are dispersed in the (A) silicone elastomer in the composition. A method of preparing the composition is also disclosed.

Composition and method of preparation

A composition is provided that includes an elastomer and an additive. The additive stabilizes the elastomer, although it may be useful for an alternate or additional purpose. The elastomer can have a moiety according to the general formula: A-B-A or B-A-B. Each A independently comprises a polysiloxane moiety having at least two siloxy (Si&#x2014;O) groups. Each B independently comprises a moiety, or a precursor thereof, having at least one carboxyl group. B is bonded to a silicon atom in A. The elastomer may comprise the reaction product of a reaction of: a first component having at least one reactive group; a second component having at least one reactive group; and a third component having at least two reactive groups reactive with the reactive groups of the first and second components. In addition, a cosmetic composition is provided that includes the elastomer, the additive, and at least one cosmetic component.

Long lasting cosmetic composition comprising silicone elastomer

A cross-linked composition comprises the reaction product of an organohydrogensiloxane and a cross-linker, in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst. The organohydrogensiloxane comprises siloxy units of average formula (I): (RSiO)(R&#x2014;SiO)(RRSiO)(RHSiO)(RRSiO)(RRSiO)&#x2014;(RSi&#x2014;O). Each of Rand Ris an independently selected hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group. Ris a hydrogen atom or a group having at least one carboxyl group or a precursor thereof. Ris an independently selected substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbyl group. Further, a&#x2265;0, b&#x2265;0, c&#x2265;1, d&#x2265;0, and e&#x2265;1. The cross-linker has at least two aliphatic unsaturated hydrocarbon groups. A method of forming the cross-linked composition comprises the steps of providing the organohydrogensiloxane and cross-linker, and combining the organohydrogensiloxane and cross-linker in the presence of the hydrosilylation catalyst to form the cross-linked composition. A cosmetic composition is provided that includes the cross-linked composition and at least one cosmetic component.

Cross-linked composition and cosmetic composition comprising the same

A cosmetic composition is provided that includes an elastomer and at least one cosmetic component optionally in a cosmetically acceptable medium. The elastomer is according to the general formula: A-B-A or B-A-B, wherein each A independently comprises a polysiloxane moiety having at least two siloxy (Si&#x2014;O) groups and wherein each B independently comprises a moiety, or a precursor thereof, having at least two carboxyl groups and wherein B is bonded to a silicon atom in A.

Cosmetic composition comprising a carboxy-functional elastomer

An aminosiloxane polymer includes at least one Si-bonded functional group. This functional group has the chemical formula: &#x2014;(R&#x2014;NH)R&#x2014;N(R)&#x2014;CH(&#x2014;COOH)(&#x2014;R&#x2014;C(&#x2550;O)&#x2014;NR) (I). In Formula (I), R is a C-Chydrocarbon group. Ris a C-Chydrocarbon group. Ris a hydrogen atom, a C-Chydrocarbon group, or a phenyl group. Ris a C-Chydrocarbon group. Each Ris independently a hydrogen atom, a C-Chydrocarbon group, a C-Chydroxyl-hydrocarbon group, or a phenyl group. Moreover, 'a' is 0 or 1, such that (R&#x2014;NH) is optional. The aminosiloxane polymer can be formed using the method of this disclosure and can be formed in, and/or included in, the emulsion of this disclosure.

Aminosiloxane polymer and method of forming

A cross-linked composition comprises the reaction product of a first reactant having at least one hydroxyl or amine (functional) group, a second reactant having at least one hydroxyl or amine (functional) group, and a siloxane having at least two terminal anhydride groups reactive with the functional groups of the first and second reactants. The first reactant is selected from the group of first siloxanes having at least one hydroxyl or amine group, a first organic alcohol having at least one hydroxyl group, a first organic amine having at least one amine group, or combinations thereof. The second reactant is selected from the group of second siloxanes having at least one hydroxyl or amine group, a second organic alcohol having at least one hydroxyl group, a second organic amine having at least one amine group, or combinations thereof. If utilized, the first siloxanes and/or second siloxanes are different from the siloxane.

A cross-linked composition comprises the reaction product of siloxanes having pendant anhydride groups and a reactant having hydroxyl and/or amine functional groups. Each of x and xx is an independently selected integer from 1 to 100. Typically, w and y are not simultaneously 0, and ww and yy are not simultaneously 0.

An amine-, polyol-, amide-, dimethyl-functional siloxane copolymer and a method for its preparation are disclosed. The copolymer is suitable for use in fiber treatment compositions. The copolymer provides good hand, resistance to yellowing, and hydrophilicity to fibers treated therewith.

A fiber treatment composition is disclosed. The composition contains siloxanes having amine-, polyol-, functionalities. The composition provides good hand, resistance to yellowing, and hydrophilicity to the fibers. The composition is preferably formulated as an aqueous emulsion. Applying the composition to textile fabrics produces treated fabrics having good hydrophilicity, good hand, and resistance to yellowing.

A fiber treatment composition is disclosed. The composition contains siloxanes having amine-, polyol, and amide-functionalities. The composition provides good hand, resistance to yellowing, and hydrophilicity to the fibers. The composition is preferably formulated as an aqueous emulsion. Applying the composition to textile fabrics produces treated fabrics having good hydrophilicity, good hand, and resistance to yellowing.

These polyamides contain siloxane groups in the main chain and act to thicken compositions containing volatile and/or non-volatile silicone fluids. Cosmetic compositions may be made by adding at least one active ingredient such as an antiperspirant.
