The connecting device further includes a user control for adjusting a fraction of oxygen in the mixed air and oxygen gas. The connecting device comprises a reservoir configured to hold a volume of the mixed air and oxygen gas.

The first end of the housing is adapted for coupling to a main housing of a flow generating device encircling an air inlet thereof. The present disclosure pertains to a therapeutic gas delivery system () including a pressure generator inlet apparatus () configured to facilitate filtering of gas drawn into the inlet () of the pressure generator () of the system. The apparatus comprises a body () and a support (). The body is configured to removably engage the inlet of the pressure generator and receive a particulate filter (). The body forms an orifice () configured to conduct gas that has passed through the filter to the pressure generator inlet. The support is coupled to the body at or near the orifice. The support is configured to extend from the body toward the filter and support the filter. The support is configured to resist collapse of the filter into the orifice caused by gas flowing through the filter to the pressure generator inlet.

The system described comprises a respiratory therapy flow device, a respiratory circuit, and an exhalation valve. The device includes an exhalation pressure control port. The exhalation valve is removably engaged with the exhalation pressure control port and the respiratory circuit. The valve comprises a lid, a diaphragm, and a housing body. The housing body comprises a ramped lock configured to engage the respiratory therapy flow device at the exhalation pressure control port. Responsive to an engagement between the valve and the exhalation pressure control port, the lid forms a compression seal with the exhalation pressure control port, the diaphragm forms a compression seal with the lid, and the diaphragm is selectively controlled via gas pressure received through the exhalation pressure control port such that gas in the respiratory circuit flows to the ambient atmosphere during exhalation by the subject.

The gas delivery system comprises a pressure generator having an inlet and an outlet, and a gas delivery flow path configured to communicate the gas between the pressure generator and a subject. The apparatus comprises a receiver body configured to receive the catalytic sensor such that the catalytic sensor removably couples with the receiver body, the receiver body located remotely from/outside the gas delivery flow path; a delivery port configured receive a portion of gas obtained from the gas delivery system that has passed through the pressure generator outlet and guide the received portion of gas toward the catalytic sensor; and a return port configured to exhaust the received portion of gas from the receiver body to the gas delivery system through the pressure generator inlet.

The present disclosure pertains to a system for controlling a leak flow rate during respiratory therapy. The system is configured to determine a leak flow rate necessary for COexpulsion for an individual subject and facilitate control of the leak flow rate during therapy such that the system exhausts substantially the entire exhaled volume of gas during an expiration of the subject. The system facilitates control of the leak flow rate during therapy via an adjustable leak valve. Determining the leak flow rate for the subject and facilitating control of the leak rate may minimize noise from air flow in the system, minimize the power draw needed by a pressure generator of the system, reduce a loss of medicine added to the respiratory therapy gas, and/or have other advantages, while still expelling the desired amount of CO.

A pressure support device such as a CPAP machine, is provided, which includes a housing, and a controller enclosed by the housing. The controller operates the CPAP machine independently or in combination with an accessory such as, for example and without limitation, a humidifier. A user interface is operably coupled to the controller and includes a primary display, a secondary display and a single control. The single control is operable in a first mode of operation to adjust operating parameters of the CPAP machine, and in a second mode of operation to adjust operating parameters of the humidifier. The secondary display preferably comprises a dead front, which is operational (e.g., without limitation, visible) only in the second mode of operation. A method of operating a pressure support device is also disclosed.

The humidifier includes a liquid trap which includes a chamber, a fluid inlet in communication with the liquid trap chamber, and a fluid outlet in communication with the liquid trap chamber. The liquid trap is constructed and arranged to discourage liquid from back-flowing from the humidifier to a source of gas.
