A line array loudspeaker includes a first plurality of flexible joints, a first plurality of electro-acoustic drivers being linked to each other by the first plurality of flexible joints, and a first sectional horn assembly coupled to the first plurality of electro-acoustic drivers. The first plurality of electro-acoustic drivers is adjustable so that it can be positioned such that an axis that runs through an acoustic center of the first plurality of electro-acoustic drivers is articulable to produce three or more configurations including: a substantially straight configuration and a plurality of arcuate configurations.

Curvable line array

A loudspeaker system includes a first flexible panel, a first line array of electro-acoustic drivers, and at least one mechanically adjustable point. The first line array of electro-acoustic drivers are mounted on the first flexible panel and linked to each other by flexible joints in the first flexible panel. The at least one mechanically adjustable point enables articulation of the first flexible panel at the flexible joints to produce one or more of a substantially straight and an arcuate configuration of the first line array of electro-acoustic drivers.

A loudspeaker includes a horn including a first end panel, a second end panel, a first side panel, and a second side panel. Edges of at least the first and second side panels define a diffraction slot opening. The first and second side panels are each fabricated from a sheet of flexible material held in a stressed, curved shape by at least a rigid support member. The panels are designed by an automated process based on a number of electro-acoustic transducers to be used in a loudspeaker, horizontal and vertical coverage angles for the loudspeaker, and a wall length for a horn of the loudspeaker.

Automated customization of loudspeakers

A cooktop power control system for a cooktop that has a plurality of burners, where the cooktop power control system controls the power delivered from two or more separate active burners to separate cookware items each of which is associated with an active burner. There is a maximum limit of total power that is available for delivery from all of the burners together. There is a heating control user interface associated with each of the burners, each heating control user interface constructed and arranged to be set by a user to a particular heating control user interface setting. A desired cookware temperature is derived from the setting of each heating control user interface. The measured temperatures of the cookware items are available to the cooktop power control system. The system has a controller that, when a plurality of burners are in sum calling for more than the maximum limit of total available power, automatically alters the power delivered from at least one of the active burners in comparison to the power called for by such burner, the alteration based on both the measured cookware temperatures of the cookware items that are associated with the active burners and the desired cookware temperatures derived from the heating control user interfaces that are associated with the active burners.

Cooktop power control system

In general, in some aspects, a loudspeaker includes a horn including a first end panel, a second end panel, a first side panel, and a second side panel. Edges of at least the first and second side panels define a diffraction slot opening. A plurality of manifold components each has an output opening coupled to the diffraction slot opening. The output openings of the plurality of manifold components together constitute a diffraction slot source at the diffraction slot opening. A plurality of electro-acoustic transducers are each coupled to an input opening of one of the manifold components.

A system and method for controlling the power delivered to cookware by a power control system that comprises a heating control user interface that is set by the user to a particular heating control user interface set point within an operating range. A controller derives from the heating control user interface set point a desired cookware temperature set point, and, over at least a first portion of the operating range that encompasses the boiling range, also derives from the heating control user interface set point a maximum limit of power that can be delivered to the cookware to maintain the cookware at the desired cookware temperature set point. The maximum power limit varies monotonically over the first portion of the operating range.

Cooking temperature and power control

A compact and portable loudspeaker system operable in two configurations includes a driver array and a base unit having a bass enclosure and a dock. In an extended configuration, the driver array is supported by one or more extension legs between three to eight feet above the base unit where one of the extension legs is held by the dock. The base unit may be placed on a floor of a small to medium venue with the mid-to-high range driver array elevated near or above the elevation of an audience in the venue. In a compact configuration, the driver array is directly supported by the dock and the base unit and driver array may be placed on a table or desk in a classroom, conference room, or other such small to medium venue. The portable loudspeaker system may be transported in the compact configuration.

Dual configuration speaker

The invention is directed to a display and method for conducting sound system design. The display is configured to simultaneously show a sound system model comprising both audio components and sound environment components, a plurality of parameters and a graphic representation of a calculated sound system performance attribute. In response to receiving input from the user and without any additional user intervention, the display re-displays a newly-calculated sound system performance attribute such as, for example, a graphic representation in the sound system model of a sound path associated with a user-selected reflected sound identifier. A processor also simulates, based on the sound system configuration, the sound performance that a user would expect to hear positioned in an identified listening position of the sound system model.

System and method for designing sound systems

A line array loudspeaker, including a first plurality of acoustic drivers each acoustic driver comprising an axis, the first plurality of acoustic drivers arranged so that the axes of first plurality of acoustic drivers are coplanar in a first plane and so that a straight line intersects each axis at a same position on each of the first plurality of acoustic drivers, and a second plurality of acoustic drivers each acoustic driver comprising an axis, the second plurality of acoustic drivers arranged so that the axes of second plurality of acoustic drivers are coplanar in a second plane and so that the straight line intersects each axis at a same position on each of the second plurality of acoustic drivers, in which the first plurality and the second plurality arranged so that the first plane intersects with the second plane along a straight intersection line.

Line array electroacoustical transducing

A line array electroacoustical transducing system includes at least first and second line arrays detachably secured in electrical and mechanical coupling relationships. The assembly may be detachably secured to a base having an amplifier in electrical and mechanical coupling relationships.
