An oxygen sensor () comprises a working electrode (WE) and a comparatively larger Ag/AgCl reference electrode (RE). A floating voltage between the electrodes (WE, RE) is temporarily retained and a measurement voltage is applied to between the electrodes (WE, RE) during a first period to cause reduction of oxygen and production of an evoked current at the working electrode (WE). The temporarily retained floating voltage is then applied between the electrodes (WE, RE) during a second period to produce a current out from the working electrode (WE). The pOin a liquid medium is then representative of a measured net charge to the working electrode (WE) equal to a sum of a charge transferred to the working electrode (WE) during at least a last part of the first period and a charge transferred to the working electrode (WE) during at least a last part of the second period.

Oxygen sensor

A system and method for localizing a catheter is provided. Distance values are determined between a plurality of reference electrodes and a catheter electrode. At least two circles are identified based on the distance values. The catheter electrode is located at a position where the at least two circles substantially coincide or within a minimum distance between the at least two circles. A transformation is applied to the at least two circles to express the at least two circles in a global coordinate system. An image is displayed as a function of the catheter electrode position.

Catheter localization system

A system for determining a position of a catheter is provided. An electrode is on a catheter. A plurality of reference electrodes are provided. Each of the plurality of reference electrodes are configured to transmit or receive a signal to or from the electrode, respectively. A processor is operable to determine a position of the catheter as a function of an electrical characteristic based on the signals. The plurality of reference electrodes are not positioned on or in a body surface along three mutually orthogonal axes.

In a computerized system and method for scheduling medical procedures implemented by a number of medical apparatuses in a clinic or hospital, an exam or therapy is scheduled using a particular medical apparatus with a set time duration, and the exam or therapy is conducted and the actual time duration occupied by the medical apparatus to conduct the exam or therapy is recorded. The time durations for each medical procedure conducted by each medical apparatus are entered into and stored in a statistical data base. A scheduling computer has access to this statistical data base, and the next exam or therapy for the same apparatus is then scheduled using a time duration that is statistically updated based on the statistical compilation in the data base.

Computerized scheduling system and method for apparatus-implemented medical procedures

The invention relates to a method and a device for removing respiratory artefacts in invasive blood pressure measurements. The level of CO2 in the expired air is monitored during blood pressure measurement and used to approximate and remove the respiratory artifacts. In one embodiment, the respiratory frequency from the respiratory signal is extracted by identifying the end-tidal CO2 level for each breath. A model is derived for the respiratory artifacts using the respiratory frequency, and the model is subtracted from the measured blood pressure data.

The invention relates to a method for removing oscillatory artefacts caused by pressure waves in a fluid-filled trans-luminal catheter from invasive blood pressure measurement data, including the steps of setting up a model for the measurement data, fitting the model to the measurement data, identifying the model components, representing the oscillatory artefact, and removing the oscillatory artefact from the measurement data. The invention also relates to a respective device for acquiring and correcting invasive blood pressure measurement data.
