A centrifugal pump comprising a cylindrical outer housing having a fluid feed conduit concentrically arranged therein with the outer wall portions thereof spaced from the inner walls of this outer housing to provide a fluid discharge outlet therebetween and a stator secured to one end of said housing having fluid discharge channels open to said fluid discharge outlet and a rotor casing encompassing said stator rotatable relative thereto wherein air bubbles in the fluid feed are sheared in a deaerating chamber adjacent said stator and vent means provided for discharging air from the rotor casing.

A nozzle type centrifuge having a bottom feed inlet to a main pumping chamber at the base of the machine for injecting the feed slurry to a rotor bowl having separator discs for effecting a two-fraction separation comprising an overflow at the top and an underflow at the peripheral mid portion of the bowl with a portion of the underflow delivered to a return pumping chamber beneath the main pumping chamber and seal means between said chambers to prevent dilution of the underflow fraction.

Feed seal for bottom feed centrifuge

A multiple hydrocyclone device wherein cyclone units are integrally formed in radial relationship in premolded discs which are mounted in stacked concentric and internested relationship one upon the other within a common housing. The hub portions of the discs provide a central chamber to receive the underflow fraction from the cyclones with the overflow discharged from openings in the periphery of the discs to an outer chamber. Sealing rings are arranged between the internested discs to maintain leak proof integrity of the stacked discs with spring urgent thrust plate means disposed at the top of the stack to permit movement or expansion of the discs in operation of the device without disturbing the sealed relationship.

Apparatus arrangement and Method for providing pressure relief for the locking ring in the rotor of nozzle type centrifugal machines. The locking ring secures the top cover section to the main body section of the rotor bowl, against the internal compression pressure exerted by the stack of separating discs confined between the top and bottom of the rotor bowl. Pressure relief for the locking ring is provided by absorbing or sustaining said internal pressure by means separate from the locking ring. The locking ring thus being relieved of said pressure and of excessive frictional resistance in the thread, is then turnable easily when assembling or disassembling the rotor bowl.

A nozzle type centrifugal machine with provision for light and heavy phase overflow delivery from top and bottom respectively of the rotor bowl, and equipped with control devices operable for correctively shifting the location of the interface within the limits of the centrifugal separating zone located within the area surrounded by a stack of separating discs.
