An augmented reality-based acoustic analysis method includes identifying structural elements of a space and determining structural parameters of the structural elements and a structural parameter of the space. The method further includes displaying, by an augmented reality (AR) device, a virtual lighting fixture model on a viewport of the AR device, where the virtual lighting fixture model is overlaid on a real-time image of the space. The method also includes determining, by the AR device, a sound reverberation time of the space based on at least a sound absorption parameter associated with the virtual lighting fixture model and a sound absorption parameter of the space determined based on the structural parameters of the structural elements and the structural parameter of the space.

Augmented reality-based acoustic performance analysis

A lighting system with expanded coverage voice operation includes a lighting fixture that includes a wireless transceiver. The lighting system further includes a remote microphone device configured to receive a voice and to transmit wirelessly an audio stream generated from the voice. The lighting fixture is configured to receive the audio stream from the remote microphone device via the wireless transceiver and to transmit the audio stream to a cloud server.

A linkable linear light emitting diode (LED) system provides apparatus and methods for mechanically, optically, and electrically linking multiple LED modules disposed over a wide and separated area of a ceiling system. Openings can be cut in ceiling tiles of a drop ceiling system and the LED lighting modules are coupled to the tile through the opening, with the tile being sandwiched between different portions of the module. A remote driver system is placed within the drop ceiling above the tiles and provides multiple connectors for powering a multitude of lighting modules. Certain of the LED lighting modules include both input and output connectors for both receiving power or data and providing power or data to other modules. In this manner, some of the modules act as master LED lighting modules and those receiving power and/or data therefrom are act as slave modules.

A lighting system includes a first lighting fixture that includes a first microphone and a first transmitter. The first transmitter is configured to transmit a first digital audio stream generated based on a sound. The lighting system further includes a second lighting fixture that includes a second microphone and a second transmitter. The second transmitter is configured to transmit a second digital audio stream generated based on the sound, where the sound is received by the first microphone and by the second microphone. The lighting system also includes a central processor that can process the first digital audio stream and the second digital audio stream to identify the sound.

A hybrid distributed low voltage power system can include a first primary power source that distributes line voltage power during a first mode of operation. The system can also include a first secondary power source that receives an input signal during the first mode of operation and distributes a reserve signal during the second mode of operation, where the reserve signal is generated from the input signal. The system can further include a PDM coupled to the first primary power source and the first secondary power source. The system can also include at least one first LV device coupled to the first output channel of the PDM, where the at least one LV device operates using the first LV signal during the first mode of operation, and where the at least one first LV device receives a reserve LV signal during the second mode of operation.

An imaging sensor determines an influence of artificial light from one or more artificial light sources and an influence of natural light in an area associated with a lighting system. On the basis of the influence of the natural light and the influence of the artificial light, the imaging sensor determines the location of the one or more artificial light sources with respect to the location of the imaging sensor. Further, the imaging sensor allocates a portion of the area as an area of influence of the imaging sensor based on a threshold change in luminescence of the area associated with switching on or switching off of the one or more artificial light sources. Responsively, the imaging sensor associates at least one artificial light source of the one or more light sources and occupancy sensors corresponding to the at least one artificial light source with the allocated area of influence.

System and method for auto-commissioning based on smart sensors

A parking facility illumination and space indicator system includes a lighting fixture configured to emit an illumination light to illuminate a parking facility and an indicator fixture coupled to the lighting fixture by a first electrical cable. The indicator fixture is configured to indicate availability of one or more parking spaces in the parking facility. The system further includes a sensor coupled to the lighting fixture by a second electrical cable. The sensor is configured to sense availability of the one or more parking spaces for parking. The lighting fixture is configured to provide power to the indicator fixture over the first electrical cable and to the sensor over the second electrical cable. The indicator fixture indicates the availability of the one or more parking spaces based on space availability information from the sensor.

Tethering indicator fixtures to illumination fixtures

A processor receives data associated with a device. On the basis of the data associated with the device, the processor modulates a light from the artificial light source at a rate imperceptible to a human eye while detectable by a light sensor device. The modulated light is representative of the data associated with the device. The modulated light is detected, demodulated, and decoded by the light sensor device to retrieve the data associated with the device. Further, the data associated with the device is presented by the light sensor device to a user. In addition, the light sensor device is configured to receive input data from the user and communicate the input data to the processor via a wireless link. The processor is configured to receive the input data from the light sensor device and effect a change in a characteristic of the device based on the received input data.

Artificial light source based messaging platform

A power distribution module (PDM) can include an input portion configured to receive high-voltage (HV) power from a power source. The PDM can also include a power transfer device electrically coupled to the input portion, where the power transfer device is configured to generate at least one low-voltage signal using the HV power. The PDM can further include an output section electrically coupled to the power transfer device and including a number of output channels. The PDM can also include at least one switch disposed between the output section and the power transfer device, where the at least one switch has an open position and a closed position. The PDM can further include a controller communicably coupled to the at least one switch, where the controller operates the at least one switch between the closed position and the open position based on a power demand measured at the output section.
