One embodiment provides a monopole for a camera, including: a pole of length sufficient for two handed operation; an offset arrangement attached to an end of the pole, the offset arrangement comprising a first element connected at an angle to the end of the pole and a second element connected to the first element; the first element rotating about a first axis with respect to the end of the pole; the second element rotating about a second axis with respect to the first element; a camera mount attached to the second element, wherein the camera mount rotates about a third axis with respect to the second element; and at least one motor aligned with the first, the second or the third axis and imparting movement to the camera mount with respect to the pole in at least one degree of freedom selected from the group consisting of tilt, pan and roll. Motorized monopod jib for cameras

One embodiment provides a motorized monopole for a camera, including: a monopole; an offset arrangement attached to the monopole; a camera mount; the offset arrangement rotating with respect to the monopole; the offset arrangement terminating in a connection attaching the camera mount; and a first motor imparting tilt movement to the camera mount with respect to the connection. One embodiment provides a counterbalancing arrangement, including: a pin arrangement attached to a monopole; the pin arrangement rotating with respect to the monopole such that roll movement of the monopole imparts yaw movement to the pin arrangement; the pin arrangement having a gimbal; a camera mounting platform having an upper and lower surface; the gimbal connecting to the lower surface of the camera mounting platform; the gimbal having a yaw degree of freedom locked with respect to the camera mounting platform; and a counterbalancing arm attached to the camera mounting platform. An imaging system that includes a rotating unit that includes an imaging camera, an alignment camera and at least a first monitor. The rotating unit is rotatable between a home position and a finish position about a rotation axis such that the imaging camera can capture a first scan. The alignment camera is directed generally downwardly and is configured to capture a first alignment image of a subject positioned generally co-axially with the rotation axis. The first alignment image is displayed on the first monitor.

A 360 degree camera imaging system comprising a first horizontal boom having a first end, a second end, and a middle section; a second horizontal boom having a first end and a second end; a first vertical arm having a first end and a second end; a second vertical arm having a first end and a second end; and a mounting bracket. A method for controlling a plurality of fans operatively disposed in a shipping container. The fans are arranged in a plurality of banks within a closed fluid path. Each bank has a sub-set of the fans arranged in a plurality of horizontal layers. Two banks form an adjacent pair in the closed fluid path if a fluid exiting one of the two banks next enters the other of the two banks. The method includes determining a proposed fluid flow rate for each of the banks. The method also includes modifying each of the flow rates by a respective scaling factor such that the flow rates for each adjacent pair satisfy a continuity criteria. The method further includes controlling the fans based on the modified flow rates.

Cooling method for a data center in a shipping container

A movable data center comprising a portable enclosure in which a data processing module is operatively disposed. The data processing module is assembled onto a rack located in the enclosure that is movable between and operative position and a service position. A heat exchange module is arranged in the enclosure in air flow communication with the data processing module on the rack. The rack may be moved from the operative position in which the rack is in air flow communication with the heat exchange module to the service position in which the rack is not in air flow communication with the heat exchange module.

Server rack service utilities for a data center in a shipping container

A movable data center is disclosed that comprises a movable enclosure having partitions that define a closed-loop air flow path. A plurality of fans and a plurality of data processing modules are disposed in the air flow path. A pipe network is disposed within the enclosure that includes a chilled water supply pipe that receives chilled water from a source of chilled water. A water return pipe is provided that circulates water back to the source of chilled water. A plurality of heat exchange modules is installed in the enclosure in the air flow path. The heat exchange modules receive the chilled water from the chilled water supply pipe. Each of the heat exchange modules has a water circulation tube that connects the chilled water supply pipe to the return water pipe.

Balanced chilled fluid cooling system for a data center in a shipping container

A realistic roller coaster simulator is disclosed having one or more passenger seats equipped with a safety harness and mounted for 360 degree rotational movement along at least two axes for simulating the motion of a roller coaster. A controller is provided for controlling and coordinating the motion of the simulator with a simulation controller which generates to the passenger synchronized audio and visual effects which would be experienced by a passenger on a roller coaster of a predetermined design. Linked to the simulator is a design station where a passenger can design his or her own roller coaster. Upon entering the simulator station, the passenger's design can be accessed from memory and selected for simulation on the simulator vehicle. Upon initiation of the simulation, the passenger can experience in real time the visual, motive, audible and other effects (such as wind, heat, cold, water, etc.) of the simulated roller coaster ride which the passenger has designed.

Roller coaster simulator

An apparatus and method in which a vehicle is guided along a path defined by a centerline and left and right boundaries parallel to and spaced laterally on opposite sides thereof and in which a passenger in the vehicle can steer it for lateral movement between the boundaries. The method and apparatus utilize an electrical conductor to define the center of the pathway and a sensor for sensing the position of the vehicle relative to the electrical conductor. Based on a comparison of the position of the vehicle and the steering command received from the passenger, as well as the steer angle position of the vehicle, the vehicle is confined to a predetermined envelope, while permitting the passenger to steer the vehicle within the envelope.

Method and apparatus for an amusement ride having an interactive guided

A transport system for moving along a track on a support surface. The system includes a body, a guide system and a powered self-steering caster assembly. The guide system cooperates with the track to apply lateral forces to the body to guide it along a predetermined path when a propulsive force is applied to the body. The powered self-steering caster assembly has a pivot joint and a wheel driven by a motor. The wheel has a center of rotation and is rotatably mounted to engage the support surface and roll in a forward direction. The pivot joint is mounted to the body to allow the wheel to pivot about a predetermined axis intersecting the support surface forward of the engagement between the wheel and the support surface. The wheel drives the body and pivots in response to frictional side slip forces between the wheel and the support surface without restraint from a steering linkage. An optional viscous damper mounted between the body and the caster assembly allows operation of the transport system at speeds in excess of those available without such a damper.

The preferred embodiment is a platen drive unit that propels the platens of vehicles moving along a track. The platen drive unit may be readily used at any portion of the track, since it acts as a castor about a kingpin assembly, thereby substantially reducing the effects of roller scrub in curved track portions. A self energizing structure balances a dual-pivot arrangement of frames, such that the drive roller of the unit is balanced to intersect the conveyance plane without imposing a 'bump' or lurch upon a vehicle that first engages the drive roller. Additionally, the drive roller is preferably a dual-rate tire which features a compliant range, within which the tire is readily deformed, but which continues to drive the platen with a large normal force. Beyond the compliant range, the tire is not compliant to deformation. The dual-rate tire may be created by constricting the circumference and filling the deformed tire with a urethane filler, which is allowed to cure. The constricting influence is removed, and the tire tread punctured to allow air to fill an ullage between the filler and the tread, creating the compliant region.
