In one embodiment, a computer-aided dispatch (CAD) system includes a database for storing data originated at a plurality of CAD stations; a manager that manages access to the data stored in the database; and the plurality of CAD stations communicatively connected to the manager and to each other. While the manager is available, each CAD station transmits the critical data and the non-critical data originated at the CAD station to the manager and receives the critical data and the non-critical data originated at one or more other CAD stations from the manager. While the manager is unavailable, each CAD station transmits the critical data originated at the CAD station directly to all other CAD stations and receives the critical data originated at the one or more other CAD stations directly from the one or more other CAD stations.

Fault tolerant distributed messaging architecture for computer-aided dispatch system

A method and system for importing data comprising the downloading of product data from different sources and in different formats; processing the downloaded data by at least comparing it with data downloaded and stored in a product database; and reviewing the results of the comparison to detect differences in the data, the differences potentially being errors. The system and methods further comprise connecting the downloaded data from its supplier specific format into a standard format; comparing the downloaded data in the standard format with a previously downloaded data set saved in the standard format; categorizing the product data based on the results of the second comparison; and processing each category of data independently to automatically update the product database.

Method and system for importing data

A method for extending an event structure including submitting a keyname and a corresponding value for the event structure and determining whether the keyname exists in a keys field array of the event structure. If the keyname does not exist in the keys field array, the method includes incrementing an index of the event structure, adding the keyname to a position in the keys field array based on the index and adding the corresponding value to a position in the values field array based on the index. If the keyname does exist in the keys field array, the method includes determining the position of a previously stored value in the values field array associated with the keyname and replacing the previously stored value in the values field array with the corresponding value.

Method and apparatus for a user extensible event structure

An event management system including an event manager, an alarm rule store, an event correlator, and a response engine. The event manager provides and receives events. The event correlator correlates at least one of the events provided by the event manager based on the alarm rules stored in the alarm rule store. The response engine executes a response policy based on the correlation of events by the event correlator.

System and method for dynamic correlation of events

A method for routing a subscription request defined by an event filter. The method includes parsing the event filter into an evaluation tree having at least one subexpression, locating the at least one subexpression and determining if the at least one subexpression includes a node specific field. If the at least one subexpression includes a node specific field, the method includes creating a list of nodes and event manager contact information and transmitting the subscription request to at least one event manager located on a node that is included on a list of nodes.

Method and apparatus for the dynamic filtering and routing of events

A system for viewing updates to a data file as they occur over time is provided. The system includes a file access client, such as a software package operating on a general purpose computer, that requests dynamic access to the data file. The system also includes a file access server, such as a software package operating on a general purpose computer. The file access server is connected to the file access client, such as through a network, and transmits the initial contents of the data file to the file access client and any data file modifications that occur over time.
