A method and assembly for protecting a device connected to a wiring harness is disclosed. The assembly includes a protective tubular shield and a positioning device, with the protective tubular shield having a bore for receiving the device at least partially therein. An elongated wiring harness extends from the device being protected and through the bore of the protective tubular shield. The positioning device is formed having a band and at least one flexible, resilient finger extending radially inwardly from the band. At least one of the fingers forcibly engages the wiring harness to releasably maintain the positioning device and the protective tubular shield in a protection position along the wiring harness at least partially surrounding the device being protected.

Protection shield positioning assembly and positioning device therefore and method of use

A method and assembly for protecting a device connected to a wiring harness is disclosed. The assembly includes a protective shield having a bore for receiving the device and a positioning device. An elongated wiring harness extends from the device being protected and through the bore of the protective shield. The positioning device is formed having a band that surrounds a central space. At least one flexible, resilient finger extends radially inwardly from the band into the central space. At least one of the fingers forcibly engages the harness sleeve to maintain the positioning device and the protective shield in a predetermined protection position along the harness sleeve at least partially surrounding the device being protected.

Protection shield positioning assembly and positioning device therefor and method of use

A heat shield assembly includes shroud or housing fabricated from a heat shielding material having at least one pair of spring arms extending from side walls of the shroud for engaging a member to which the heat shield assembly is to be attached, and one or more retention tabs projecting into a longitudinal channel in position to limit longitudinal movement of the assembly relative to the member when the member is attached to the spring arms.

A pulling grip for drawing a cable through a conduit is disclosed. The pulling grip includes a braided gripping sleeve that has an opening at one end which provides access to a central space surrounded by the sleeve. An eye for attachment to a pull tape is positioned at the opposite end of the gripping sleeve. The cable is received within the gripping sleeve, which is biased to engage and grip the cable along its length. Due to the trellis effect, the gripping sleeve grips the cable with greater force when under tension. One end of an elongated protective shroud is attached to the opposite end of the gripping sleeve. The other end of the shroud is free to move lengthwise along the sleeve toward and away from the attached end. The shroud prevents the gripping sleeve from contacting the conduit and its contents and thereby prevents the pulling grip from damaging these items during the pull.
