An automated banking machine () includes a sheet picking mechanism (). The sheet picking mechanism includes a rotatable picking member (). With each rotation an end sheet () can be picked from a stack () of sheets. The picking member () has an outer surface section that includes a high friction portion () axially adjacent to a low friction portion (). The low friction portion comprises an arcuate projecting portion that reduces risk of damage to a leading edge area of the end sheet due to opposed picking and stripping forces.

Cash dispensing automated banking machine and method

A banking system includes an automated banking machine controlled by data bearing records. The machine compares indicia from a bearer record with computer information regarding the bearer. The machine operates to reallocate credit among various accounts responsive to computer determined correspondence among stored user identification data, read card data, and read biometric data. The machine also includes a note presenter and a currency cassette. A gate of the presenter is located at a note dispensing outlet of the machine. The gate is opened by actuating a lever linked with an arm connected to the gate. The currency cassette includes a one-piece polymer body attached to a one-piece polymer lid. A one-piece tambour door is movable along guide tracks integrally formed with body side walls.

The lid is arranged with the body to resist entry into the cassette interior. Integral stiffening ribs are provided. The body side walls include integrally formed guide tracks. The upper edge of each body side wall extends into a gap created between double-walled side walls of the lid when the lid is closed. A tab, which projects outward from an upper edge of a body side wall, extends even further into the closed lid. The tab becomes nested in an aligned slot in the lid when the lid is closed. A nested tab affords further cassette security by providing resistance to lid and body separation.

A cassette tambour door automatically opens during insertion of the cassette into the dispenser. The picker can pick notes through the opening. A spring loaded housing wall tab retains the picker shaft in mating connection with a drive pin. The transporter can move notes vertically and horizontally. The transporter includes belts between an idle shaft and a drive shaft. The idle shaft is vertically movable relative to a drive shaft to maintain belt tension. The transporter also includes convexly tapered rollers that automatically recenter a loose belt. A presenter gate is at a note dispensing outlet of the ATM. The gate is opened by actuating a lever linked with an arm connected to the gate. The gate opens by moving a pin upward in an angled slot.

Secure enclosure bolt work apparatus for automated banking machine

A secure enclosure (10) for an automated banking machine includes a door (30). A bolt (38) is slidably mounted on the door and is moveable responsive to the condition of a lock. The bolt includes front portions (56) and back portions (58). In the extended position the bolt engages a latch (60) and an angle member (52) attached to the door. In the extended position, the front portions of the bolt extend through apertures (62), (78) in the latch and angle members respectively. The back portion of the bolt engages second bolt engaging portions (80). An opposed side of the door from the latch includes projecting portions (64). The projecting portions extend in pockets (64) when the door is in the closed position.

Secure enclosure for automated banking machine

Main field magnets (10) create a static magnetic field through an examination region that is surrounding a resonator coil assembly (22). The resonator coil assembly includes a dielectric cylinder (60) on which a plurality of foil antenna or coil segments (30) are mounted. Pairs of adjustable tuning and matching capacitors (28, 34) are mounted on opposite sides of the cylinder in electric connection with the foil segments. The tuning capacitors are connected with a first pair of driven gears (90) disposed on one side of an annular reinforcing ring (64) and the matching capacitors are connected with a second pair of driven gears (100) mounted on the other side of the reinforcing ring. First and second ring gears (66, 68) are mounted at three points on opposite sides of the reinforcing ring each at its respective drive gear and pair of driven gears. In this manner, rotation of the appropriate drive gear rotates the respective ring gear about the cylinder causing concurrent rotation of the associated driven gears such that the associated pair of capacitors are adjusted concurrently by the same amount. Optionally, keeper assemblies (110) may be connected to the annular reinforcing ring to prevent circumferential deflection of the ring gears.
