A spherical bearing for releasably immobilizing an attachment to a shaft or other external object is provided. The spherical bearing comprises a truncated flexible spherical core with an annular hole through the center of the spherical core for appending the core on the shaft or external object. Segments around the spherical core are created by relief cuts in the spherical core, and deflection flexure points displaced from the annular hole are formed by the relief cuts in the core. A housing provides compression against the core and immobilization of the shaft or other external object.

Method and apparatus for releasably immobilizing an attachment to an external object

A spherical bearing permits alignment, maintained alignment, and the immobilization of an attachment to a shaft passing through a core of a bearing. The bearing includes a spherical inner core surrounded by a housing around the core. The bearing does not require alignment of the housing and core to perform its function. Design features based on structural modification of the inner core allow the bearing to be immobilized using minimal compression and releasability when the bearing is released.

Friction locking spherical joint

An arrestor restricts the movement of a user operated device and is designed to allow flexible placement of the user operated device and subsequent locking to an adjacent object. While one function is to fix a foot pedal relative to a keyboard stand, the foot pedal arrestor can also be applied to any user operated device associated with a broad spectrum of applications. These range from musical instruments through foot operated industrial equipment and office equipment to in home devices such as sewing machines and recreational equipment such as boat motor controllers.

Arrestor for user operated devices

A drafting system that automatically generates digital drawings from a computer generated model of a bracket is described. The drafting system includes a data storage device which stores information relevant to a plurality of users including a plurality of orthographic projection rules. After the computer generated model of the bracket is introduced to the system, a plurality of drawing functions generate weld information, dimensions, and cross references to parts lists that are assigned to the bracket. Additionally, a plurality of editing features enable the user to edit objects automatically inserted within the drawings by the drafting system.

Methods and apparatus for generating drawings from computer generated models

A modeling system that converts a three-dimensionally defined aircraft engine harness in a two-dimensional electronic model, a process known as unfolding, is described. The modeling system electronically unfolds the three-dimensionally defined harness to create a two-dimensional representation, while simultaneously determining a plurality of design parameters. The drawing and the design parameters are displayed in a format that may be used for inspection purposes and manufacturing purposes. More specifically, the modeling system determines branch angles, wire lengths, and a plurality of angles of the three-dimensionally defined harness.
