Power supplies and methods of use thereof are provided, where a power supply includes an input configured to receive input AC power an output configured to provide output AC power to a load, at least one power converter coupled to the input and configured to convert the input AC power into the output AC power, a controller coupled the at least one power converter. The controller is configured to adjust at least one parameter of the output AC power provided by the at least one power converter, detect, in response to adjusting the at least one parameter of the output AC power, at least one of an adjusted input AC power or an adjusted output AC power, and determine that a fault has occurred based on the at least one of the adjusted input AC power or the adjusted output AC power.

Method to detect back-feed and mis-wiring events by a UPS system

A power converter system including an input configured to receive input AC power from an input power source, the input power source having a peak voltage limit, at least one output configured to provide output power to at least one load, a charger coupled to the input and configured to convert the input AC power into first DC power, a DC bus configured to receive the first DC power, at least one power converter configured to convert DC power from the DC bus into the output power, and an auxiliary power source coupled to the DC bus and configured to provide second DC power to the DC bus to supplement the first DC power provided by the charger in response to a voltage demand of the at least one load exceeding the peak voltage limit of the input power source.

Method to overcome electrical circuit voltage and current limitations

A relay control circuit for use with a relay having a coil voltage input. The relay control circuit includes a first input to receive a first voltage capable of energizing the relay from a de-energized state, a second input to receive a second voltage, less than the first voltage, that is capable of maintaining the relay in an energized state, and means, responsive to a relay control signal having one of a first state and a second state, for switchably coupling the coil voltage input to the first input for a period of time sufficient to energize the relay in response to the relay control signal having the first state, and for switchably coupling the coil voltage input to the second input in response to expiration of the period of time.

Systems and methods for controlling relays

An electronic device including first and second line inputs, first and second device inputs, a filter circuit, and a switching circuit. The filter circuit has a first input electrically coupled to the first line input, a second input electrically coupled to the second line input, a first output electrically coupled to the first device input, a second output, and at least one capacitor electrically coupling at least one of the first input to the second input or the first output to the second output. The switching circuit has a control input to receive a control signal, and electrically couples the second output to the second device input in response to the control signal having the first state and electrically couples the second output to one of the first input and the first output through a resistor in response to the control signal having the second state.
