An abnormality detecting apparatus comprises a synchronous detecting circuit for detecting a synchronous signal from a video signal outputted from a camera unit, and an abnormality detecting circuit for judging whether or not a first direct current signal level obtained from an input path of said video signal is greater than a predetermined first threshold value, whether or not a second direct current signal level obtained from said input path of said video signal is smaller than a predetermined second threshold value, and whether or not said synchronous signal is detected by said synchronous detecting circuit, and determining that said input path of said video signal is in one of a normal state, an open state, a power connected state, and a ground connected state based on the result of the judgments.

Abnormality detecting apparatus

Disclosed is an active matrix substrate which includes a display area and a terminal area located outside the display area. The terminal area includes extraction wirings connected with signal lines and scanning lines of the display area. A testing terminal for making contact with a probe of a prober and a connection terminal on which a chip is mounted are provided on each of the extraction wirings. The terminals are connected with the extraction wirings through contact holes. Even when an area of the testing terminal is larger than an area of the connection terminal, an opening area of a second contact hole for the testing terminal is reduced to an area smaller than an opening area of a first contact hole for the connection terminal.

Screen display device

A structure of a wireless communication device for calling an emergency report center via a cellular phone network is simplified. Further, provision is made so that voice communication can be established with the emergency report center from anywhere. To provide such an advantage, a built-in wireless communication section is used to transmit data, including a phone number of a cellular phone possessed by a user in a vehicle when an emergency report is made to the emergency report center via the cellular phone network. An operator in the emergency report center uses the phone number of the cellular phone to establish voice communication with the user. Since the built-in wireless communication section does not require a voice communication circuit, the wireless communication device structure can be simplified to reduce a size and cost of the device. Further, the emergency report center can establish voice communication with the user even when the user has to stay away from the vehicle depending on a situation.

Emergency report terminal device and system

An emergency information terminal includes two power supply circuits supplying power to the internal circuits including a controller. If one of the power supply circuits fails, the other power supply circuit supply power, and the operation of the terminal is maintained. Even in case of emergency such as traffic accident or sickness, an emergency call can be notified. Further, the controller detects a trouble in the power supply circuit, and informs the user of the trouble.

An ordinary telephone communication circuit is provided in addition to the emergency informing circuit in an emergency informing apparatus. In the non-emergency condition, ordinary telephone communication is provided through a wireless communication network. In the emergency condition, the emergency data is transmitted to a predetermined station through the wireless communication network. An interface for transmitting and receiving data is further provided. A data converter for converting data may be provided as a data communication adapter. An automatic dialing circuit may be provided. An emergency informing system including the emergency informing apparatus, the wireless network, and a terminal of a predetermined station for receiving the emergency data from the emergency informing apparatus is also disclosed.

An emergency communication system is installed on a vehicle for transmitting emergency information such as traffic accident, sudden illness, etc. to a center such as police station. It is used for the purpose of preventing inadvertent neglect of the connection of a handy phone to the system terminal unit when the handy phone is used as the emergency communication conveying means. In case it is not connected normally, a signal is set to a vehicle starting systemto prohibit the starting operation of the vehicle. This information is displayed on LED or LCD on a dashboard of the vehicle by the information transmitting means, and it is further stored in a storage unitso that it can be picked up from outside via an external equipment connection interface

Emergency communication system

An emergency reporting apparatus for a vehicle includes a microphone, a loudspeaker, and a handsfree system circuit. Handsfree two-way speech communication with an emergency report receiving center is allowed via the microphone, the loudspeaker, and the handsfree system circuit. A volume control circuit connected to the loudspeaker operates for controlling a volume level of sound generated by the loudspeaker at a predetermined constant level or higher. The volume control circuit may control the volume level at the predetermined constant level, and may inhibit a user from changing the volume level.

A wireless communication circuit provides wireless communication with a network; and a supply power control circuit controls supplying a power to at least one of said wireless communication circuit and a unit in a vehicle in response to a command signal which is inputted from an operation circuit or through the wireless communication circuit. The power is periodically supplied to a unit in its vehicle or the wireless communication circuit. A control circuit receives data from the unit and stores the data. The data is outputted or transmitted in response a data request. The unit may be a position detection circuit including a GSP receiver. The power is cut off when the unit is not used. Information is transmitted to the vehicle terminal apparatus which stores and displays it in response to a data command or a start-up of the vehicle. A diagnostic function may be provided. The main battery may be checked and the result is transmitted. The position of the vehicle are periodically detected and compared to detect a trouble of the vehicle. The result may be transmitted. An emergency informing function or system may be provided. The information transmitting system reads data from a data base and transmits data to a vehicle terminal apparatus.

A cellular telephone apparatus capable of establishing and maintaining a call even in case of a failure in call establishment or a call due to a busy state of a called party or a communications channel disorder such as congestion or received wave level shortage. In response to a request for a call origination for a destination telephone number, a call is originated for the destination telephone number. In case of a failure in the call origination, a call termination process is executed and then the call origination is retried. Once a call is established after the call origination, in response to a detection of disconnection of the call caused not by a user but by a channel disorder, a call termination process executed. A call is originated for the same telephone number as a destination telephone number of the disconnected call. In an embodiment, the retrying is put off while a received wave level is less than a predetermined level. If a count of said call origination reaches a predetermined count value, then the retrying is stopped.

Cellular telephone with automated redial functions

The disclosed emergency informing terminal mounted on a vehicle for making an emergency call to the center for supervising the emergency informing system recognizes emergency informing signals of different signal formats, and executes the emergency informing process. This emergency informing terminal recognizes emergency informing signals entered in different signal formats in every vehicle, and the control unit for executing emergency informing process according to the signal recognizes whether the signal format belongs to the air bag equipment connected to a vehicular LAN or the directly connected air bag equipment on the basis of the status signal. Consequently, transferring to the input state confirming state of the signal format, the signal is processed. Further, when a signal showing air bag developing state or the like is entered, the emergency informing process is started.

An emergency call terminal device is provided which may be employed in automotive vehicles to transmit, in the event of an emergency, data on the current location of the vehicle and registered information about the vehicle to an emergency center. The emergency call terminal device is designed to produce signals different in voltage level from each other depending upon operating states of an emergency call push button for discriminating between an open circuit-caused failure resulting from formation of an open circuit of an internal circuit of the device caused by an accidental disconnection of the internal circuit from the emergency call push button and a short circuit-caused failure resulting from formation of a short circuit of the internal circuit to ground caused by an accidental disconnection of the internal circuit from the emergency call push button.
