A programmable logic controller capable of improving the expandability of a distributed control system and a programming tool for the programmable logic controller are provided. A programmable logic controller (PLC) that constitutes a distributed control system includes: a variable table that includes variable information including identification symbols for identification of a plurality of PLCs and variable names of reference variables, the variable information being set for each of the reference variables; a storage device that has a memory region for storing the reference variables; and an interface circuit that mutually converts communication data for use in communication between the PLC and a different PLC and the reference variables stored in the memory region. The reference variables are variables mutually referenced by the plurality of PLCs.

A production equipment monitoring device comprises a display panel providing a touch switch function, a touch switch display controller displaying on the display panel a touch switch corresponding to a general segmentary operating process, an operating status display controller distinguishably displaying thereon an operating status of the touch switch corresponding to the general segmentary operating process presently executed, a detail process information memory memorizing a name of a detail operating process and an address of the programmable logic controller to be referred thereto when judging an actual status of the detail operating process, and a detail information display controller displaying thereon, when the touch switch is pressed, the name of the detail operating process included in the general segmentary operating process corresponding to the pressed touch switch, and the actual status of the detail operating process obtained by the address of the programmable logic controller.

Production equipment monitoring device

An electric motor includes a commutator and a brush assembly. The brush assembly includes a pair of brushes, each disposed in operative relation to the commutator, a pair of brush holders each supporting at least one of the brushes, and an assembly base (69, 74) for securing the brush holders thereto. The assembly base includes a base plate of insulating material and at least two severable conductive passages (71, 72) each secured to the base plate. The conductive passages are adapted to supply electric current to the pair of brushes from different directions and drive the electric motor for rotation in either forward or reverse direction when either one of the passages is severed for permitting use of a single brush assembly in different kinds of motors.

Electric motor brush assembly adaptable to different stators

A brush holder assembly for a commutator type electric motor includes a substantially circular base plate of insulating material having a central aperture for receiving the motor commutator. The base plate includes a pair of brush holders for supporting brushes in operative relation to the commutator. A pair of conductive members are embedded in the base plate. Each conductive member has a brush holder mounting portion exposed on both sides of the base plate and a connecting terminal for electrical connection to the corresponding terminal of the stator coils. Power connecting means is provided on the base plate for electrically connecting the terminals of the stator coils to an electrical power source.
