An oil-based magnetic ink can be provided that has low viscosity and improved storage stability. Specifically disclosed is an oil-based magnetic ink containing a magnetic pigment that contains a ferrite, a pigment dispersant A that has an acid value but has no base value, a pigment dispersant B that has an acid value and a base value, and a non-aqueous solvent. One example of the pigment dispersant A is at least one compound selected from the group consisting of hydroxystearic acid and polyhydroxystearic acid. One example of the pigment dispersant B has an acid value of at least 5 mgKOH/g.

Oil-based magnetic ink

An oil-based inkjet ink that exhibits excellent repellency by the nozzle plate, prevents degradation of the nozzle plate, reduces image show-through, and yields high image density. The oil-based inkjet ink includes an encapsulated pigment containing a pigment and a urethane compound that coats the surface of the pigment, and a non-aqueous solvent, wherein the urethane compound has a urethane skeleton and one or more side chains and is insoluble in the non-aqueous solvent, and the side chains of the urethane compound contain one or more moieties selected from the group consisting of an aromatic ring, a heterocyclic ring, a carboxyl group, an amide linkage, a fluoroalkyl group having one or more fluorine atoms, and a nitrile group.

Oil-based inkjet ink

An oily inkjet ink comprises a pigment, a dispersant, and an organic solvent. The organic solvent contains an ester solvent and/or an alcohol solvent. A containing quantity of a water-soluble ingredient in the pigment is equal to at most 0.15% by mass.

Emulsion ink and method for producing same

An automatic dispenser includes a dispensing head, a transporter, a controller, sensors, and an adjustor. The dispensing head accommodates a plurality of dispensing tips and draws liquid into and ejects liquid from the dispensing tips. The transporter moves the dispensing head within an XYZ space. The controller controls drawing and ejecting of liquid by the dispensing head and movement of the dispensing head by the transporter. The sensors detect whether dispensing tips are mounted in the dispensing head. The adjustor aligns the reference positions of the dispensing head and the sensors in the XY plane.

Automatic dispenser

In reagent reaction experiments using microplates, a desired period of time can be set for determining the time to introduce a reaction stop solution after introduction of a reagent. The set time is measured starting from the introduction of the reagent and the reaction stop solution is introduced immediately after expiration of the set time. A control device for an automatic liquid handling system having the above-described reaction time managing feature is also provided with a self-diagnosing function that is capable of determining whether scheduled processes are executable or not during the time set before execution of the processes and informing an operator of the results of determination.

In reagent reaction experiments using microplates, the operator cannot just set dispensing tips in all the fixing holes of the dispensing tip container. It is necessary to carry out the time-consuming task of deciding in advance on a suitable arrangement of positions for the dispensing tips. It is also necessary for the operator to carry out the time-consuming task of determining in advance the quantity of reagent used and how the reagent is to be arranged. These problems are solved by providing a control device that includes a dispensing tip arrangement calculator and reagent quantity and arrangement calculator, and that can inform the operator of these results. The dispensing tip arrangement, the reagent quantity used, and the reagent arrangement is calculated from the information set in advance on specific reagent, the quantity of reagent dispensed into one well of the microplate, the range of wells in the microplate into which reagent is dispensed, and the direction of dispensing.

A microplate liquid handling system requiring minimum installation area, helping to avoid waste of various reagents, and making it possible to perform dispensing the various reagents in the shortest possible time. The microplate liquid handling system has a main frame body provided with a moving mechanism, a dispensing mechanism, and a stage. On the stage, a microplate, two dispensing tip containers, and two reagent vessels are mounted. Formed in the microplate are 12&#xd7;8 wells, i.e., 96 wells in total, arranged in matrix. The microplate, the dispensing tip containers, and the reagent vessels are substantially of the same, rectangular configuration. Each of the two dispensing tip containers is capable of accommodating 12&#xd7;8 dispensing tips in total in a matrix fashion.

Microplate liquid handling system

A microplate liquid handling system capable of automatically performing both longitudinal collective suction/discharge and lateral collective suction/discharge on a single microplate. The microplate liquid handling system has a main body equipped with a moving device, a rotating mechanism, a dispensing mechanism, and a stage. Connected to the moving device is the dispensing mechanism for performing dispensing on wells in a microplate on the stage through the rotating mechanism. A plurality of cylinders are arranged in a row in the dispensing mechanism. The dispensing mechanism is capable of moving forwards and backwards and to the right and left with respect to the main body, and is rotatable about a vertically directed rotation axis, making it possible to change the direction of the cylinder array from origin position to 90 degrees position and vice versa.

A bio cell cleaning rotor assembled in a centrifuge. The rotor includes a plurality of test tube holders for holing a plurality of test tubes. The holders are pivotally movably supported to a rotor body so that the test tube holders are moved toward a horizontal direction upon application of centrifugal force. A cleaning liquid distributor is positioned above the rotor and is rotatable together with the rotor for distributing even amount of cleaning liquid to the plurality of test tubes. The distributor includes a disc like upper segment and a disc like lower segment in opposition thereto. The upper and lower distribution segments are molded products and have radially outer side flat sections in intimate contact with each other. A plurality of radial grooves are formed in at least one of the flat sections. The radial grooves serving as cleaning liquid distribution nozzles each having radially outer end open toward each opening of each test tube.

A bio cell cleaning centrifuge having a detachable inner chamber body. The centrifuge includes a rotor detachable from a drive mechanism. Test tube holders are pivotally movably supported on the rotor for holding test tubes. A cleaning liquid distributor is detachably disposed on the rotor for supplying cleaning liquid to the respective test tubes. A bowl detachable from the drive mechanism is disposed below the test tube holders. The inner chamber body is disposed below the bowl for receiving therein supernatant liquid discharged out of the test tubes during rotation of the rotor. The inner chamber body is detachably mounted on a main case. The inner chamber body is detached after the distributor, the rotor, and the bowl are detached.

An inkjet head includes a pair of support plates A, B and a diaphragm plate interposed between the support plates A, B. In this configuration, even when adhesion between the diaphragm plate and the support plate B is insecure, and when a piezoelectric element deforms a diaphragm toward a pressure chamber , that is, in a direction away from the support plate B, the support plate A prevents the diaphragm plate from peeling off the support plate B. Accordingly, the dimension and thus a deforming amount of the diaphragm is maintained uniform, whereby a uniform ink ejection performance is maintained.

An ink jet print head includes pressure chambers, nozzles, and ink channels in a one-to-one correspondence. A diaphragm forms a side of each pressure chamber. The ink channels are formed in a restrictor plate. Piezoelectric elements are attached to the diaphragm and to a piezoelectric element fixing plate, which supports the piezoelectric elements. A housing of the head is formed with a common ink channel for supplying ink to the ink channels and an internal space into which the piezoelectric elements and the piezoelectric element fixing plate are at least partially inserted. A cover is provided for covering the piezoelectric element fixing plate. The cover is connected to the housing and is provided with an internal space large enough to maintain a gap between the cover and the piezoelectric element fixing plate.

Ink jet print head and method of production thereof

An ink jet print head includes pressure chambers, a diaphragm forming a side of the pressure chambers, stacked piezoelectric elements, a piezoelectric element fixing plate, and a housing. The stacked piezoelectric elements are attached to the diaphragm in a one-to-one correspondence with pressure chambers. The piezoelectric element fixing plate is fixedly attached to and supports the stacked piezoelectric elements. The housing includes a common ink channel portion that supplies ink to the pressure chambers. The piezoelectric element fixing plate and the stacked piezoelectric elements are disposed at least partially in the space defined by the diaphragm and internal side walls of the ink channel portion with a gap existing between the piezoelectric element fixing plate and the internal side walls.
