The present invention provides a method for producing primary amines and secondary amines, the method being characterized by reducing a primary amide or a secondary amide in the presence of a reducing agent and an organic metal halide of a group-2 element.

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing an ether compound easily in a small number of steps at lower costs in high yields. The present invention relates to a method in which the ether compound represented by the general formula (1) is produced by reacting the specific carbonyl compound specified in the general formula (2) and the specific dialkoxy compound specified in the general formula (3) with hydrogen in the presence of a hydrogenation catalyst and an acidic substance to perform hydrogenation.

A resin composition for a light guide article-preform is described, which enables the formation of a foamed layer having a large light scattering effect on the surface of a shaped article by laser irradiation processing at low cost. More specifically, the present invention relates to: a resin composition for a light guide article-preform, which contains a resin having a mass average molecular weight of 60,000 to 150,000, and has a 30% thermal mass reduction temperature of 310&#xb0; C. or lower and a difference between a 40% thermal mass reduction temperature and a 20% thermal mass reduction temperature of 7&#xb0; C. or less when a thermal mass measurement is performed with starting from the state at 100&#xb0; C. under air at a temperature rising rate of 5&#xb0; C./min.

The present application provides a synthetic spilanthol flavor composition that includes (2E,6Z,8E)-N-(2-methylpropyl)-2,6,8-decatrienamide. The synthetic spilanthol composition can also contain, and at least one of (2E,6E,8E)-N-(2-methylpropyl)-2,6,8-decatrienamide and (2E,6Z,8Z)&#x2014;N-(2-methylpropyl)-2,6,8-decatrienamide, the (N-(2-methylpropyl)-2,6,8-decatrienamide being present in amounts effective to impart a salivating or tingle effect while reducing the perception of off notes, as compared to the off-notes perceived upon consumption of natural spilanthol (e.g. spilanthol obtained from jambu oleoresin). Methods of increasing salivation and/or providing a tingling sensation upon consuming an orally consumable product that include adding to the product a synthetic spilanthol flavor composition are also provided. Synthetic spilanthol flavor compositions can be added to orally consumed products, such as, but not limited to, foods, beverages, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, or therapeutic compositions, oral personal care products, gums (e.g. chewing gum or bubble gum), candy or lozenges.

Provided is a method for producing an optically active ceramide by an N-acylation (amidation) reaction of an optically active aminodiol, wherein a crude ceramide produced therein is purified by an industrially advantageous process. Namely, provided is a method for producing a high-purity ceramide that has high diastereo purity with high yield. A high-purity ceramide is produced by: a step wherein a ceramide represented by general formula (1) is produced by reacting an aminodiol with an alkyl ester having 1-5 carbon atoms of an aliphatic carboxylic acid having 12-24 carbon atoms, said aliphatic carboxylic acid optionally having a hydroxyl group, in a hydrocarbon solvent having 5-10 carbon atoms; and a step wherein an alcohol having 1-3 carbon atoms is added into the reaction mixture obtained in the preceding step, thereby causing crystals to precipitate. (In the formula, Rrepresents an alkyl group which has 13-17 carbon atoms and optionally has a carbon-carbon unsaturated bond; Rrepresents an alkyl group which has 11-23 carbon atoms and optionally has a hydroxyl group; and * represents an optically active state.).

Method for producing high-purity ceramide

Provided is an amide ester that is useful as an intermediate manufacturing product for an aroma compound such as spilanthol or the like. Also provided is a spilanthol manufacturing method using said amide ester. High-purity spilanthol can be manufactured by reacting an amide ester represented by general formula (1) with a basic compound.
