The present invention relates to a composite film comprising a plastic film and a protective layer which is formed on at least one surface of the film, wherein the protective layer is made of a mixture comprising (a) an inorganic swellable silicate having a layered structure and (b) a compound containing a silanol group at a weight ratio of (a) to (b) of between 1:1000 and 2:1 and an antistatic composite film comprising a plastic film and a coating layer which is formed on at least one surface of the film, wherein said coating layer is made of a mixture comprising (a) a swellable inorganic silicate having a layered structure and containing at least one ion selected from among aliphatic ammonium ions having at most 6 carbon atoms, sodium ion, silver ion and lithium ion as an interlayer ion and (b) at least one member selected from among water-soluble compounds and water-dispersible resins at a weight ratio of (a) to (b) of between 1:1000 and 2:1. These composite films are excellent in electrical characteristics, smoothness, slipperiness, anti-scratching properties, antistatic properties and the like, so that they are suitable for various uses such as electrical insulating material, wrapping material, labels, writable and erasable materials, print lamination film, magnetic recording medium, micro-film or the like.

The present invention relates to a flame-retardant polyolefin foam comprising a polyolefinic thermoplastic resin consisting mainly of a homopolymer of .alpha.-olefin or copolymer of .alpha.-olefins having 2 to 10 carbon atoms; 2 to 10 percent by weight as bromine content, based on the weight of the foam, of a bisphenol A-based brominated epoxy resin or a crosslinked product thereof; and 0 to 25 percent by weight, based on the weight of the foam, of an inorganic filler. The foam of the present invention has superior flame retardancy and thermoformability in addition to the superior heat insulating property and shock absorbing property of the polyolefin foam, and because of these superior characteristics it is useful as an automotive interior material, etc.

A polyester film-heat-bonded metal sheet is provided, which comprises a biaxially oriented polyester film or films, heat-bonded to a metal sheet by means of an adhesive layer interposed therebetween. The adhesive layer is made of a polyblend comprised of, based on the weight of the polyblend, 5 to 80 wt. % of at least one high melting point polyester having a melting point of at least 200.degree. C. and 20 to 95 wt. % of at least one low melting point polyester having a melting point of at least 100.degree. C., but not higher than a temperature which is 5.degree. C. lower than the melting point of the high melting point polyester. The polyblend may contain a minor amount of a polyolefin resin. The polyester film-heat-bonded metal sheet has good formability and is suitable for cans and other containers. The containers exhibit enhanced impact resistance, adaptability to retort treatment and corrosion resistance.

A nonporous flexible sound insulating sheet is provided which is composed of 50 to 90 wt.% of a nonwoven lead fiber fabric and 10 to 50 wt.% of a vinyl chloride polymer reinforcing material. The reinforcing material fills the spaces between individual lead fibers of the nonwoven fabric to secure the individual lead fibers in their places. The lead fibers are substantially uniformly distributed in the nonwoven fabric and are disposed such that the axes of the lead fibers extend, as a whole, substantially at random in all directions, and such that the lead fibers are not exposed on the surface of the sound insulating sheet. The sound insulation sheet has a thickness of 0.3 to 2.0 mm and a specific gravity of 2.0 to 6.5.
