A unitary seat assembly for mounting a pair of seats on a bicycle includes a central longitudinal bar portion and a first and second vertical bar portion having different lengths which extend from the central bar portion. Bicycle seats are mounted on the ends of said first and second bar portions, one of said seats being above the pedals of the bicycle while the second seat is positioned either behind or in front of the first seat. The first seat is set at a height to permit the full downward extension of the rider's legs when pedaling while the second seat is set at a height low enough to permit the rider's legs to comfortably reach the ground.

A unitary seat assembly for mounting a pair of seats on a bicycle includes a central longitudinal bar portion and a first and second vertical bar portion having different lengths which extend from the central bar portion. Bicycle seats are mounted on the ends of said first and second bar portions, one of said seats being above the pedals of the bicycle while the second seat is positioned either behind or in front of the first seat. This invention provides a metal surface-treating method which comprises a chemical conversion step of dipping a substrate in an acidic aqueous zinc phosphate solution, and using an aqueous zinc nitrite solution as an accelerator, said aqueous zinc nitrite solution being substantially free of calcium ion and containing 0 to 6500 ppm of sodium ion and 0 to 20 ppm of sulfate ion in case of assuming the concentration of zinc nitrite &lsqb;Zn(NO ) &rsqb; therein to be 10 weight % as NO .

Metal surface-treating method

A card holder has a frame which is rectangular in configuration with one open end through which a card can be inserted into and removed from the holder. A slide plate is slidably mounted in the frame. When the card is inserted into the frame, it slides along the slide plate and comes to a position where it abuts against a stop ridge formed along the inner edge of the slide plate. With insertion of the card into the holder, the slide plate is driven by the card further into the holder. With such motion of the slide plate, a spring connected thereto at one end and to the holder at the other end is brought to a retracted or loaded position. The spring and card are retained in the retracted position by a retainer detent formed in the holder which latches onto the slide plate and retains the slide plate in position. A manual release button mounted in the frame is used to release the detent from the slide plate, thereby freeing the slide plate and permitting the spring to drive the slide plate and along with it the card to an extended position, with the card out of the holder where it can be inserted into a gate control device for actuating such device.

A bicycle seat cover with which friction on the bicyclist is minimized. This end result is achieved by providing the cover with a compliant central portion which may be fabricated of a polyurethan foam, this central portion having a middle layer thereover of a low friction material, such as a polyethylene, and finally an outer layer over the polyethylene layer which is of soft material and which has an inner surface of low friction material, such as an acrylic resin coating, and an outer surface of a soft material, such as a suitable nylon. The outer cover fits over the bicycle seat and has an elastic ring-shaped band on the bottom portions thereof which grips the cover to the bicycle seat.

Bicycle seat cover

A device for suspending articles such as paper, has a plurality of balls which are slidably retained within a retainer in a series arrangement with each other. The retainer is formed from a back plate, a front plate opposite the back plate which is downwardly inclined towards the back plate, and top and side plates which join the front and back plates together. A slot is formed between the side plates and the back plate for receiving paper or the like to be retained by the device. In use, the device is supported on a wall or other support with the back plate secured to the support, and with the front plate inclined downwardly towards the back plate and the wall to form a ramp for the balls. When sheets of paper or the like to be retained in the device are pushed upwardly into the slot, they raise the balls somewhat in an upward direction, and pass between the balls and the back plate. When the paper sheets or other articles are released, the balls move downwardly along the inclined front plate by virtue of gravity and the paper sheets or the like are secured in place between the balls and the back plate. One or more of the sheets can be removed by drawing them out of the slot formed between the side plates and the back plate.
