An ice thermal storage type air conditioner includes an outdoor unit,equipped with a compressor,and an outdoor heat exchanger,, an indoor unit,equipped with an indoor heat exchanger,and an expansion valve,, and an ice thermal storage tank,. The ice thermal storage tank is equipped with a heat exchanger exchanger used as a condenser when the accumulated heat is used. The heat exchanger has a pipe-shaped heat transfer tube,and a plate-shaped fin,installed to the heat transfer tube. The fin is installed vertically, and a plurality of rows of the heat transfer tubes and the fins are arranged.

An air conditioner in accordance with the invention comprises a first unit including a compressor and a heat exchanger; a second unit including a heat exchanger; a refrigerant circuit connecting the compressor and the heat exchanger of the first unit, with the heat exchanger of the second unit, through which a refrigerant flows; a refrigerant pressure reduction valve disposed in the refrigerant circuit and provided in the second unit; a control unit provided in the first unit for controlling the refrigerant pressure reduction valve in the second unit.

An air conditioner comprises a first unit including a compressor and a heat exchanger, a second unit including a heat exchanger, a refrigerant circuit connecting the compressor and the heat exchanger of the first unit, with the heat exchanger of the second unit, through which a refrigerant flows, a refrigerant pressure reduction valve disposed in the refrigerant circuit and provided in the second unit, a control unit provided in the first unit for controlling the refrigerant pressure reduction valve in the second unit.

Disclosed is a multi-airconditioner including a plurality of outdoor units and at least one indoor units in which refrigerant conduits connecting the outdoor units and the at least one indoor units are united in the form of two or three conduits. In the case of the multi-airconditioner for effecting either room-cooling or room-heating, each of the outdoor units and each of the indoor units have a liquefied refrigerant conduit and a gasified refrigerant conduit, which are connected with a single common liquefied refrigerant conduit and a single common gasified refrigerant conduit, respectively. In the case of the multi-conditioner for effecting simultaneous room-cooling and room-heating operation in which some of the indoor units are under room-cooling operation while the other indoor units are under room-heating operation, each outdoor unit and each indoor unit have a liquefied refrigerant conduit, a high-pressure gasified refrigerant conduit and a low-pressure gasified refrigerant conduit, and these liquefied refrigerant conduits, high-pressure gasified refrigerant conduits and low-pressure gasified refrigerant conduits are connected to a single common liquefied refrigerant conduit, a single common high-pressure gasified refrigerant conduit and a single common low-pressure gasified refrigerant conduit, respectively.

Multi-airconditioner

An air-conditioning system for a cooling operation and a heating operation comprises a first heat exchanger to which a high-pressure and high-temperature refrigerant which has not been substantially cooled and adiabatically expanded after being compressed is supplied to heat the inside of a room to be air-conditioned during both of the cooling operation and the heating operation, a second heat exchanger to which a low-pressure and low-temperature refrigerant which has been substantially cooled and adiabatically expanded after being compressed is supplied to cool the inside of the room during both of the cooling operation and heating operation, and an air flow generator for generating an air flow which passes the first heat exchanger and the second heat exchanger, wherein the second heat exchanger is arranged at an upstream side of the first heat exchanger in the air flow.

A method for controlling a refrigerant path apparatus including a pressurized gas refrigerant path for a flow of a pressurized gas refrigerant which has not been substantially cooled to be liquefied, a pressurized liquid refrigerant path for a flow of a pressurized liquid refrigerant which is generated from the pressurized gas refrigerant by being cooled to be liquefied, a first heat exchanger means which is fluidly connected to the pressurized gas refrigerant path to supply the pressurized gas refrigerant into the first heat exchanger so that a heat exchange is carried out between the pressurized gas refrigerant in the first heat exchanger and the outside of the first heat exchanger, comprises the steps of allowing a flow of the refrigerant from the pressurized gas refrigerant path to the pressurized liquid refrigerant path when a supply of the pressurized gas refrigerant from the pressurized gas refrigerant path into the first heat exchanger means is prevented, and preventing the flow of the refrigerant from the pressurized gas refrigerant path to the pressurized liquid refrigerant path when the supply of the pressurized gas refrigerant form the pressurized gas refrigerant path into the first heat exchanger means is allowed.

Refrigerant path apparatus

The control system for the air-conditioner disclosed herein comprises means for setting a set value of a room temperature, means for detecting an actual value of the room temperature, means for detecting a radiant heat from walls etc. of the room as a radiation temperature, and an operational control means. The operational control means stores a comfort line which defines an inverse proportional relation between the room temperature and the radiation temperature, said comfort line depending upon set value of the room temperature. The operational control means calculates a first control index which is represented by a difference between the actual value and the set value of the room temperature and a second control index which is represented by a difference between the comfort line and the current temperature condition represented by the actual room temperature and the radiation temperature. The room temperature set value is modified in the operatal control means, according to fuzzy rule, on the basis of said first and second control indexes. The operational control means controls the air-conditioner, depending upon a difference between the modified value of the room temperature and the actual value of the room temperature, thereby providing a comfortable air-conditioned environment to a person staying in the room.

Control system for air-conductioner

An air-conditioner system having a compressor, a plurality of heat exchangers for heating or cooling the air in a room, a radiator for transferring heat energy of refrigerant outside of the room, a plurality of orifices, a manifold with a main port and a plurality of sub-ports, flow direction control multi-port valves directing the flow of the refrigerant from the compressor to the main port and not from the main port to the compressor when at least one of the heat-exchangers is heating the room. The refrigerant does not flow from the compressor to the radiator when at least one of the heat exchangers is heating and none of the heat exchangers is cooling. Also, it does not flow from the compressor to the main port but flows instead from the compressor to the radiator and from the main port to the compressor when none of the heat exchangers is heating and at least one of the heat exchangers is cooling. The system also employs a plurality of valve pairs each of which having a first valve and second valve such that the first valve opens (closes) when the second valve closes (opens). The first valves are arranged for providing flow of refrigerant to the inlet of the compressor from the heat exchangers and the second valves provide flow of refrigerant from the outlet port of the compressor to the respective heat exchanger first ports via the sub-ports of the manifold.
