A liquid crystal display device related to the present invention can reduce a stress applied to a crystal liquid panel and prevent unevenness in a display of the liquid crystal panel. This liquid crystal display device includes the crystal liquid panel having an upper substrate and a lower substrate facing each other, a transparent protection plate provided on the upper substrate of the liquid crystal panel, a transparent elastic adhesive material that fills a space between the liquid crystal panel and the transparent protection plate, and a planar light source unit that emits light from the lower substrate side of the liquid crystal panel. The planar light source unit has a frame that includes transparent protection plate supporting portions for supporting end portions of the transparent protection plate from below.

Liquid crystal display device

A display device includes a display panel having a display plane, a frame having an opening formed at an area corresponding to the display plane, for holding the periphery of the display panel, a protecting cover for protecting the display plane, and two transparent adhesive sheets arranged in the gap between the display plane and the protecting cover.

Display device

In the manufacture of a display device, an object of the invention is to make it possible to easily and precisely measure the amount of beveling of the display panel without an increase in manufacturing costs. In the process of manufacturing a display device, a shorting interconnection () is provided near edges of the display panel in order to short-circuit signal interconnections and scanning interconnections (interconnections). In a final stage, the shorting interconnection () is removed together with a beveled area (A) by the beveling of the edges of the display panel. The interconnections () have marks () that are formed near the edges of the substrate and used as reference for the amount of beveling. Each mark () is located in a position shifted from the mark () of an adjacent interconnection () along the length of the interconnections ().

A lighting unit of the present invention comprises a light guide board, a fluorescent discharge tube provided on a side surface of the light guide board, having an electrode portion at its end portion, a lead wire having a contact connected to the electrode portion of the fluorescent discharge tube, and a holder having a cavity therein and containing the end portion of the fluorescent discharge tube and the contact of the lead wire inside the cavity. The diameter of the cavity is larger than that of the fluorescent discharge tube. With this construction, the lighting unit can suppress heat dissipation at the end portion of the fluorescent discharge tube as compared with the background art and as a result, can suppress degradation in luminance of the fluorescent discharge tube due to long term use.

Lighting unit

A plastic sheet that includes a first surface and a second surface, which intersect with each other on an imaginary line. The first surface and the second surface have a first straight line and a second straight line, respectively. A first line segment connecting an end of a cutout portion, which is provided on the second line, to an end opposite to the other end of a cutout part, which is provided on the first line, is orthogonal to the imaginary line.

Plastic sheet

A lamp lighting terminal which is a conductive pad connected to a power supply terminal of a lamp is mounted on a surface opposite to a light emitting surface of a flat light source apparatus. Then, a terminal of a inspection device is brought into contact with the lamp lighting terminal to light up a liquid crystal display apparatus, thereby allowing inspection to be carried out. The flat light source apparatus may be provided with a light guide inputting lights from a light source through the side to output the light through one surface. In this configuration, inspection work at the time of lighting inspection of a liquid crystal display is simplified, and a high-quality liquid crystal display can be obtained.
