In order to separately evaluate an influence degree of fuel and an influence degree of lubricating oil with respect to particulate matters contained in exhaust gas, an exhaust gas analysis method includes: analyzing particulate matters contained in the exhaust gas exhausted from an engine, thereby making it possible to analyze the particulate matters derived from the lubricating oil by using isooctane as a fuel.

Exhaust gas analysis method and exhaust gas analysis system

In analyzing the concentration of an objective component contained in a sample gas by a gas analyzer, an output of the gas analyzer is corrected at a fixed point by applying the relationship between the concentration of a coexistent gas and a span sensitivity of the objective component to make it possible to simply correct the effect of the coexistent gas. In addition, by inputting, at the time of the calibration of the gas analyzer, the information on to what extent the base gas composition differs from the average amount of the actual sample along with the concentration amount of the objective component in the calibration gas, the sensitivity adjustment coefficient is determined by taking into account the effect amount which is previously stored in the gas analyzer, by which the effect amount of the span sensitivity by the difference of the base gas compositions in the calibration gas and the sample gas is suppressed, and the effect of the coexistent gas is canceled to the best possible extent.

Method for correcting the effect of a effect of a coexistent gas in a gas analysis and a gas analyzing apparatus using same

Polylactic acid-based resin composition and use therefor

For an exhaust analyzer, the factors causing turbulence and mixing of the sample gas are removed from the sample gas-introducing pipe in order to introduce the sample gas into the analyzer cell under laminar conditions. Further, the indicated changes resulting from the fluctuations of sample gas pressure within the analysis cell of such a construction are compensated. As a result, the sample gas can be quantitatively analyzed with a high rate of response under the condition that the influences caused by the fluctuations of the sample gas pressure are reduced. The sample gas is introduced into the cell-type gas analyzer from the sample gas source through a gas-introducing pipe under laminar conditions. A pressure sensor detects the changes in pressure within the cell of the gas analyzer, and in response to the pressure sensed by the pressure sensor a compensating means compensates for the erroneous indication of gas characteristics generated by the analysis cell as a result of the fluctuations of sample gas pressure therein.

Gas analyzing apparatus

A hydrocarbon analyzer for rapidly measuring both methane and nonmethane hydrocarbons is provided. The analyzer includes a nonmethane hydrocarbon absorbing first column connected in series with a methane absorbing second column. A sample gas is propelled in a carrier gas through a carrier gas line into the first and second columns via a change-over valve for switching between a branched line severably connected between the carrier gas line and a first flame ionization detector for measuring nonmethane hydrocarbons and a second flame ionization detector connected to the second column for measuring methane. The change-over valve switches from a gas sample introducing position to a backflush position so that the sample gas is introduced into the first nonmethane hydrocarbon absorbing column where the nonmethane hydrocarbons are absorbed and the methane is transferred to the second methane absorbing column prior to backflushing the carrier gas to elute the absorbed hydrocarbons which are directed to the first and second hydrogen flame ionization detectors.

Hydrocarbon analyzer and method of analyzing hydrocarbon

A methane analyzer system having a cutter for preparing a sample gas prior to submission to a hydrogen flame ionization detector includes a source dilution gas that is connected to the hydrogen flame ionization detector, and a flow restrictor line for directing a portion of the dilution gas to the cutter for mixing with the sample gas prior to introduction into the ionization detector. A source of fuel, such as hydrogen, which is connected to the ionization detector, is also metered in measured quantities to the cutter to stabilize the oxidation of the sample gas.

Methane analyzer with improved sample preparation

A hydrogen gas analyzer having an improved delivery system is provided wherein a plurality of branched passageways can supply a sample cell and an additive fuel to a combustion chamber. Cutoff valves can be activated to control the flow rates through the respective passageways so that when the concentration of hydrogen in the sample gas is high, the flow rate from the additive fuel will be reduced, and when the concentration of hydrogen is low, the flow rate of the sample gas is reduced.

Hydrogen gas analyzer with improved delivery system

An infrared gas analyzer reduces influenced results from interfering gases by utilizing a first filter system intermediate a light source and a gas cell in which the sample is located. The filter system passes light having wavelengths within absorption bands of the gas to be measured. It also reflects light having wavelengths outside of the absorption bands. A second filter system is also intermediate the light source and the first filter system. The second filter system absorbs light having wavelengths within absorption bands of an interfering component gas.

Infrared gas analyzer

The absorption analyzer of the type provided with light sources (3a, 3b), cells (1, 2) containing a reference gas and an ingredient gas to be measured, respectively and a detector (5) for determining the absorption of the light emanating from the light sources and passing through the cells, is additonally equipped with a gas filter (8) arranged in the optical path between said light sources and the detector and contains an ingredient gas with an absorption spectrum band that nearly corresponds to that of an ingredient gas to be measured or an ingredient to be measured. The advantage of the invention is that a relatively large range of concentrations of gas ingredients can be measured with the same type of cells having the same cell length.

Absorption analyzer

An apparatus for intermitting beams of light for use in a gas analyzer in which a rotary shaft of a chopper is supported by first and second ball bearings. An outside ring of the first ball bearing is fixedly mounted on a bearing housing and either an inside ring or an outside ring of the second ball bearing is adapted to be movable in the thrust or axial direction relative to the rotary shaft, whereby the second ball bearing is movably energized in the thrust direction by an elastic member to eliminate shake of the rotary shaft due to play in the ball bearings and thus reduce modulation noise to improve measuring accuracy of the gas analyzer.
