A component picked up by a suction nozzle of a component mounting machine is imaged by a camera, the captured image is processed by an image recognition system to recognize the component, the image is determined to be normal or abnormal based on the recognition result, and in addition to classifying the image as a normal image or an abnormal image and storing the image in a storage device, component mounting boards, unloaded from a component mounting machine, are inspected with an inspection device. A stored image reclassification computer acquires the inspection result from the inspection device, reclassifies the normal image stored in the storage device, based on the inspection result, as an image whose determination as a normal image is suspect or as an image whose determination as a normal image is not suspect, and then stores the normal image in the storage device.

A number one camera and number two camera are provided in the top section and lower section of a mounting and inspection data creation device. A number one lighting device and top side shielding plate are provided on the lower side of a lens of number one camera. Component is set on transparent setting plate that is positioned between top side shielding plate and lower side shielding plate, and when imaging the top side (pickup side) of component with number one camera, top side shielding plate is slid out of the imaging area of number one camera. Mounting data is created based on component bottom side image taken by number two camera, and inspection data is created based on component top side image taken by number one camera.

To image a component larger than the field of view of a camera, a range based on the shape and dimension of the component to be imaged and the field of view of the camera, a range of the component is divided, and imaging ranges of a plurality of characteristic parts to be imaged are determined. Then, images of the plurality of characteristic parts obtained by imaging the plurality of characteristic parts with the camera are combined to create a combined image of the characteristic parts of the component. Based on the combined image, the position of the component is measured.
