A signal recording/reproducing apparatus includes a first power source unit which generates necessary electric power signals from a commercial power source, a second power source unit which generates a necessary electric power signal from a battery, a recording signal processing unit, and a reproduced signal processing unit. The apparatus further includes time measuring instrument which is supplied with the electric power from the second power source unit, and a charging unit which charges the battery with the electric charges. Whenever the time measuring instrument measures a predetermined time, the generation of the electric power signals from the first power source unit is started, and the battery is charged with the electric charges by the charging unit.

Signal recording/reproducing apparatus with improved power consumption

The present invention provides a system for performing procedures to request repair, without troubling the driver, when a car breaks down, as well as various onboard peripheral apparatuses and cellular phone used for this system. This system comprises an onboard peripheral apparatus having a failure detector, an onboard main controller for managing car information, a cellular phone which can make wireless connection to the onboard main controller, and a response center for receiving requests for car repairs and maintenance and making arrangements therefor. When a failure is detected, repair request is transmitted to the response center through wireless communication together with the user ID of the driver. Based on this request, the response center acquires remedy information from a car manufacturer and makes arrangements for repair and provides this remedy information to a repair shop.

Repair and maintenance support system and a car corresponding to the system

The disclosed system performs procedures to request repair, without troubling the driver, when a car breaks down. This system comprises an onboard peripheral apparatus having a failure detector, an onboard main controller for managing car information, a cellular phone which can make wireless connection to the onboard main controller, and a response center for receiving requests for car repairs and maintenance and making arrangements therefore. When a failure is detected, repair request is transmitted to the response center through wireless communication together with the user ID of the driver. Based on this request, the response center acquires remedy information from a car manufacturer and makes arrangements for repair and provides this remedy information to a repair shop.

A recording disk having a recording medium and a memory assembly which is disposed in an annular or spiral form at a certain position on the disk. The memory assembly which a memory which stores information, a signal processor which writes or reads out information to/from the memory, a transmitter-receiver for transacting information with an exterior of the disk, a controller which controls the memory, signal processor and transmitter-receiver, a receiver which receives power in the form of a signal supplied from an exterior of the disk for the operation of the memory, signal processor, transmitter-receiver and controller, and a rectifier converts the signal received by the receiver into power. Optical disk and recording/reproduction apparatus using the same

An optical recording disk intended only for the reproduction of a main information and used by a information management system has the attachment of a memory in which data for the management of the main information is written and read out easily and reliably. The memory has associated electromagnetic coupling means for transacting the record management data with and receiving power from a recording/reproduction apparatus. The electromagnetic coupling means is built in the memory or disposed in an annular or spiral form on the disk. The transmission frequency band for data transaction and power supply is set outside the main information reproduction frequency band. The memory is disposed in or on an appropriate plastic layer of the disk depending on the usage of the disk, and located in the inner or outer section of the recording medium forming area on the disk depending on the transmission band. This low-cost optical disk can be manufactured at a high reliability and high yield.

A liquid developer for electrostatic photography comprising resin grains dispersed in a non-aqueous solvent having a volume specific resistivity of at least 10.sup.9 .OMEGA.cm, wherein the resin grains are obtained by polymerizing (a) at least one monomer selected from benzyl methacrylate, benzyl acrylate, styrene and a styrene derivative, and (b) at least one monomer selected from acrylic acid esters and methacrylic acid esters having an alkyl group having not more than 3 carbon atoms which are soluble in the non-aqueous solvent but become insoluble therein by being polymerized, in the presence of a dispersion stabilizing resin which mainly comprises a graft copolymer composed of at least one macromonomer (M) containing a polymer component represented by the general formula (Ia) or (Ib) defined herein. The liquid developer is excellent in dispersion stability, and toner images having resist with high resistivity to etching solutions can be formed in electrostatic photography.

An electrophotographic photoreceptor comprising an electro-conductive support having thereon at least one charge-generating layer and at least one charge-transporting layer, wherein said charge-generating layer contains, as a resin binder, a copolymer derived from at least one monomer represented by formula (I) and at least one monomer represented by formula (II) and a charge-generating substance, and wherein said charge-transporting layer is formed on said charge-generating layer by a coating solution containing a charge-transporting substance and a solvent not dissolving said resin binder: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 and R.sup.3, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; and R.sup.2 represents an unsubtituted or substituted alkyl group or an unsubstituted or substituted aralkyl group. Because of incorporation of the particular copolymer, the photoreceptor has high sensitivity, little fluctuation of electrophotographic characteristic in repeated use, excellent capacity of forming uniform images, excellent charging property and small residual potential. Specifically, the charge-generating layer is not dissolved out in formation of the charge-transporting layer over the charge-generating layer.

Zoom lens system

There is provided an automatic focusing system which is used in a video camera or the like. A master lens is finely vibrated and moved by using a moving mechanism consisting of a stepping motor and a lead screw. A speed control circuit to set a moving speed of the master lens is provided. The moving speed of the master lens is set by an output signal of the speed control circuit and the master lens is moved by the moving mechanism. The moving speed of the master lens is optimally controlled and the out-of-step phenomenon in the stepping motor is eliminated. Since the master lens is accurately moved, the focusing operation is executed at a high accuracy. In addition, the influence by the unnecessary vibration (ringing) which is caused by the sudden change in moving speed of the master lens is eliminated. Therefore, since the master lens normally performs a predetermined micro vibration, the correct focusing can be accurately discriminated. Further, when a change in amount of the high frequency component of a video signal is large, since the moving speed of the master lens increases, the operating time until the correct focus is obtained is reduced.
