An object to be solved by the present invention is to provide a multilayer coating film forming method by which a multilayer coating film having reduced nonuniformity and exhibiting excellent luster and high flip-flop properties can be formed. The present invention provides a multilayer coating film forming method characterized by including: applying an aqueous first colored paint (X) containing a color pigment (x1) and an effect pigment (x2) on an object to be coated to form a first colored coating film; applying an aqueous second colored paint (Y) containing a viscosity modifier (y1), a color pigment (y2), and an effect pigment (y3) to form a second colored coating film; applying a clear paint (Z) to form a clear coating film; and curing by heating, wherein a solid content of the aqueous second colored paint (Y) is in a range of 0.1 to 6 mass %, an average value of light transmittance of the second colored coating film is 1% or lower, and a difference |R(X)−R(S)| between an average value of light reflectance of the first colored coating film and an average value of light reflectance of the multilayer coating film is 5% or lower.

Multi-layer coating film forming method

This invention provides a method for forming a multilayer coating film, comprising applying a base paint (X) having a solids content ratio of 30 to 62 mass % to a substrate to form a base coating film having a cured film thickness of 6 to 45 μm; applying an effect pigment dispersion (Y) having a solids content ratio of 0.1 to 10 mass % to the base coating film to form an effect coating film having a cured film thickness of 0.1 to 5.0 μm; applying a two-component clear paint (Z) containing a hydroxy-containing resin and a polyisocyanate compound to the effect coating film to form a clear coating film; and heating the base coating film, the effect coating film, and the clear coating film to simultaneously cure these coating films; wherein the base paint (X) contains a polyurethane resin (A), an alcohol (B) containing 6 to 12 carbon atoms, and an organic solvent (C) having an HLB of 7 to 9, and the effect pigment dispersion (Y) contains water, a flake-effect pigment (P), a resin emulsion (Q), and cellulose nanofibers (R).

Method for forming multilayer coating film

The problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide an effect pigment dispersion that exhibits excellent water resistance, that can form metallic or pearly luster, and that further exhibits high stability; and to provide a method for forming a multilayer coating film. The present invention provides an effect pigment dispersion that contains water, a wetting agent (A), a flake-effect pigment (B), and a phosphate-group-containing cellulose-based rheology control agent (C). The effect pigment dispersion has a solids content of 0.1 to 10 parts by mass, per 100 parts by mass of all of the components of the effect pigment dispersion; and has a viscosity of 100 to 10000 mPa·sec as measured with a Brookfield viscometer at a rotational speed of 6 revolutions per minute.

The present invention provides an effect pigment dispersion that contains water, a wetting agent (A), a flake-effect pigment (B), and specific cellulose nanofibers (C). The effect pigment dispersion has a solids content of 0.1 to 10 parts by mass, per 100 parts by mass of all of the components of the effect pigment dispersion; and has a viscosity of 100 to 10000 mPa·sec as measured with a Brookfield viscometer at a rotational speed of 6 revolutions per minute.

A method for forming a multilayer coating film, the method including the following steps (1) to (3): (1) applying a colored paint (X) to a substrate to form a colored coating film whose lightness L* value in the L*a*b* color space is 5 or less, (2) applying an effect pigment dispersion (Y) to the colored coating film formed in step (1) to form an effect coating film, and (3) applying a clear paint (Z) to the effect coating film formed in step (2) to form a clear coating film, wherein the effect pigment dispersion (Y) contains water, a rheology control agent (A), and a flake-effect pigment (B), the flake-effect pigment (B) being an effect pigment in which a transparent or translucent base material is coated with a metal oxide, and the effect pigment dispersion (Y) having a solids content of 0.1 to 15 mass %; the obtained multilayer coating film has a Y value (Y5) of 50 or more, the Y value (Y5) representing a luminance in the XYZ color space based on spectral reflectance when light illuminated at an angle of 45 degrees with respect to the multilayer coating film is received at an angle of 5 degrees deviated from specular reflection light in the incident light direction; and the obtained multilayer coating film has a lightness L* value (L*25) of 25 or less in the L*a*b* color space when light illuminated at an angle of 45 degrees with respect to the multilayer coating film is received at an angle of 25 degrees deviated from specular reflection light in the incident light direction.

A power supply device includes a control circuit and a first circuit. The control circuit switches between a current control mode and a voltage control mode according to an inputted dimming signal and thus dims a light-emitting element. In the current control mode the control circuit controls an output current supplied to the light-emitting element to a target current, and in the voltage control mode the control circuit controls an output voltage supplied to the light-emitting element to a target voltage. A graphite-free lubricating oil which comprises a base oil having dispersed therein 10 to 40% by weight of a carbohydrate and/or a derivative thereof whose particle size ranges from 10 to 150 .mu.m, 2 to 20% by weight of a film-boosting agent and 0.1 to 20% by weight of a dispersant. Moreover, the lubricating oil is free of black-colored substances such as graphite.
