An object information acquiring apparatus employed in the present invention includes: a plurality of transducers that generate an electric signal upon reception of an acoustic wave from a measurement subject; a supporter that supports the plurality of transducers such that directional axes of at least a part of the plurality of transducers are gathered together; a point sound source; means for controlling relative positions of the measurement subject and the supporter; a processor that determines respective distances from the plurality of transducers to a focus position of the measurement subject and generates property information relating to the focus position; and a corrector that determines correction data.

Object information acquiring apparatus

A photoacoustic apparatus includes a light irradiation unit configured to irradiate a subject with light a plurality of times; a driving unit configured to move a supporting member so that relative positions of the supporting member and the subject differ at each of the plurality of times; a plurality of transducers configured to receive acoustic waves generated through the plurality of times of irradiation and output a plurality of groups of reception signals corresponding to the plurality of times of irradiation; the supporting member configured to support the transducers such that directional axes of at least some of the transducers converge; a first memory configured to store the groups of reception signals; and a processing unit configured to obtain subject information at a target position by assigning, to each of the groups of reception signals, a weight corresponding to relative positions of the supporting member and the target position.

Photoacoustic apparatus

A photoacoustic apparatus disclosed herein includes a plurality of receiving elements which receive photoacoustic waves caused by irradiation of light from a light source to a subject and outputs reception signals and a signal data acquisition unit which generates and stores reception signal data by reducing a data amount of reception signals output from the plurality of receiving elements when a region where the directional axes of the plurality of receiving elements are gathered at a point is not included in a region of interest.

Units which respectively acquire information on an aberration generated by a display optical system and information on an aberration generated by a vision correction optical system used by an observer are arranged. Aberration correction is executed based on the two aberrations. An aberration generated by a combination of the display optical system and the vision correction optical system used by the observer can be appropriately corrected for each observer.

A photoacoustic diagnostic apparatus having a light source, a probe which receives an acoustic wave generated when light is directed onto an object from a light source and which converts the acoustic wave into an electrical signal, a memory unit which records the electrical signal and a memory control unit which controls whether or not to cause the memory unit to record the electrical signal. The memory control unit controls the memory unit on the basis of a timing at which the probe receives an acoustic wave generated from a portion other than a light absorbing material inside an object.
