A cap assembly for a cultivation bottle for growing mushrooms is provided. The cap assembly () includes a bottle fitting member () configured to fit onto a mouth part () of the cultivation bottle () and a bowl-shaped member () configured to be placed on the bottle fitting member. The cap assembly being connected to the bottle prior to fruiting such that the mushrooms grow up through the mouth of the bottle and the attached cap assembly. The bowl-shaped member being separable from the bottle and attached bottle fitting member to facilitate harvesting of the mushroom fruiting bodies and removal of a section of the elongated hard tip portion.

The present variety of mushroom named 'Marmo22go' was cultivated by the gathering and repeated breeding of Bunashimeji mushrooms having dominant traits, which has good qualitative character and appearance, a thick white stem, a large mushroom size, and a resistance to high temperatures. This edible mushroom is exquisite in stability, reproducibility and uniformity when being produced.

The object of the invention is to provide a method for developing a novel species by means of interspecific crossbreeding among(DC.:Fr.) Quel.,(DC.:Fr.) Quel. var.(DC.:Fr.) Quel. var.C. J. Mou and(DC.:Fr.) Quel., which are not native in Japan, and(Jacq.: Fr.) Kummer, which is native in Japan and the novel species obtained by the method and is also to provide a novel species ofspp. carrying both a(DC.:Fr.) Quel. gene and a(Jacq.: Fr.) Kummer gene by crossbreeding(Jacq.: Fr.) Kummer with(DC.:Fr.) Quel. var.C. J. Mou,(DC.:Fr.) Quel. or(DC.:Fr.) Quel. var.Lanzi, thereby obtaining a strain capable of further crossbreeding with(DC.:Fr.) Quel.,(DC.:Fr.) Quel. var.or the like.
