A recording device includes a first transportation path along which a medium is transported, a recording unit configured to record on the medium on the first transportation path, a second transportation path branching from the first transportation path, a flap located at the junction and configured to be moved to a first position to open the first transportation path and to a second position to close the first transportation path, and a driving section. After the medium passes the junction, the flap is positioned at the second position to come in contact with the medium traveling upstream along the first transportation path and guide the medium to the second transportation path. The flap is moved to the first position by a driving force of the driving section.

A liquid ejecting apparatus includes a liquid ejecting apparatus main bodyejecting a liquid onto a recording medium from a liquid ejecting head mounted on a carriage; a liquid containing bodyarranged inside the liquid ejecting apparatus main body; and a liquid supply tubearranged between the liquid containing bodyand the carriage, in which an inner space S is provided which is formed from the liquid ejecting head and a discharge port including a region where the recording medium is discharged, and the liquid containing bodyis arranged in the inner space S.

Liquid ejecting apparatus

A recording apparatus includes a base housing and an upper housing. The base housing has a surrounding wall portion and a bottom wall portion that are formed integrally. A recording head, which performs recording on a medium, is mounted in the inner space of the base housing. The upper housing such as a scanning apparatus is provided over the base housing and has a function of closing the inner space of the base housing. The recording apparatus further includes a part attachment unit and a main board. The part attachment unit is detachably attached to the base housing in the inner space of the base housing. The main board is fixed to the part attachment unit and controls operation of at least the recording head.

An ink jet recording apparatus includes a head unit that has a recording head which ejects ink and a relay adapter which relays an ink accommodating portion where ink is accommodated with the recording head, and is movable in a scanning direction of the recording head, and an ink tube that is connected to the relay adapter, guides ink which is sent from the ink accommodating portion to the relay adapter, and has flexibility, in which a height difference is formed in an upper portion of an adapter accommodating portion, where the relay adapter is accommodated, of the head unit, and the ink tube extends outside the head unit by using a space between a high position and a low position of the adapter accommodating portion.

The ink tube protrudes to the outside of the apparatus from discharge port side of the front surface.

An ink jet printer includes an openable/closable scanner unit which is provided in an upper portion of a recording unit configured to execute recording on a sheet. A shaft is formed on a main frame which constitutes a base of the recording unit. The scanner unit is enabled to tilt in relation to the recording unit when the bearing provided to the scanner unit engages the shaft. A restricting portion is provided at a location opposing the outer periphery of the bearing. The restricting portion restricts the deformation of the bearing in a direction of expansion of an opening of the bearing within the range of tilt of the scanner unit.

A complex apparatus includes a recording device including a recording unit that executes recording on a medium; an image reading device, provided so as to be freely openable/closable with respect to the upper portion of the recording device via a hinge portion, including an image reading unit that reads an image; a first contact portion, provided in the image reading device, that makes contact with a housing of the recording device when the image reading device is in a closed state; a second contact portion, provided in the housing of the recording device, that makes contact with the first contact portion when the image reading device is in a closed state; and a third contact portion, provided in an apparatus frame that holds the recording unit, that makes contact with the housing of the recording device at the lower area of the second contact portion.

Complex apparatus

A recording medium support device includes the following elements. A feed tray is capable of receiving stacked recording media. A recording medium support is pivotably connected to the feed tray. The support is switchable between a closing position and an opening position by pivoting. An anti-falling section prevents the recording medium support from falling to the closing position by coming into contact with the base of the recording medium support in the opening position.
