An azo compound and an ink composition containing the azo compound are used as inks for ink jet recording and have excellent gas (ozone) resistance when recording is done on special ink jet paper. The azo compound is represented by formula (1) or a tautomer thereof, or a salt of these. In formula (1), Rrepresents a C1-C4 alkyl group, Rrepresents a cyano group, Rand Reach independently represent a C1-C4 alkoxy, R-Reach independently represent a group represented by formula (2), and R-Reach independently represent a nitro group. In formula (2), Ris an anilino group, and Ris a mono- or di-C1-C6 alkylamino group

A coloring matter which exhibits excellent (ozone) gas resistance, high print density, low color rendering properties, low color saturation, and high-quality black hue when is recorded on a paper only for inkjet exclusive use, i.e., an azo compound represented by formula (1), a tautomer of the azo compound, or a salt of the azo compound or the tautomer; and an ink composition containing the coloring matter, particularly a black ink composition for inkjet recording applications.

An aqueous black ink composition that produces a black recorded image that is stable even when stored for a long time period, exhibits a neutral black to gray color with low color saturation and no tinge, has a high printed image density and exhibits excellent fastness properties of the recorded image, particularly ozone-gas resistance. The ink composition contain at least one kind of coloring matter (I), which a coloring matter represented by formula (1) below, a tautomer thereof, or a salt of the coloring matter or the tautomer; at least one kind of coloring matter (II), which is a coloring matter represented by formula (2) below or a salt thereof; and coloring matter (III), which is a coloring matter having an azo group other than coloring matters (I) and (II), or a salt thereof. 

Ink composition, inkjet recording method and colored body

A water-based black ink composition which exhibits a low intensity, colorless and neutral black color and provides a black recorded image the printed image of which has high density. The ink composition includes at least one compound represented by formula (1) or a salt thereof and an azo compound having &#x3bb;max within the range of 550-660 nm. In the formula (1), Rto Rindependently represent a hydrogen atom; a halogen atom; a sulfo group; a carboxy group; a sulfamoyl group; a carbamoyl group; a C1-C4 alkyl group; a C1-C4 alkoxy group; and a C1-C4 alkoxy group substituted with at least one group selected from a group consisting of a hydroxy group, a C1-C4 alkoxy group, a hydroxy C1-C4 alkoxy group, a sulfo group and a carboxy group. X represents a bivalent cross-linking group. 

An aqueous black ink composition which enables the formation of an excellent black recorded image having extremely high ozone gas resistance and a neutral and achromatic color. The ink composition comprises: a dye which includes at least one compound represented by specific formula (1) or at least one tautomer or salt of the compound; a dye which includes at least one compound represented by specific formula (3) or at least one tautomer or salt of the compound; and a dye which includes at least one compound represented by specific formula (4) or at least one tautomer or salt of the compound. 

Ink composition, inkjet recording method, and colored material

Provided is a porphyrazine dye suitable for use in ink-jet recording, the porphyrazine dye giving a cyan ink with a satisfactory hue, having various excellent fastness properties, in particular, ozone resistance, and attaining a high color density. Also provided is an ink composition containing the dye. The porphyrazine dye is a porphyrazine dye represented by formula (1) or a salt thereof. In formula (1), rings A to D each independently represents a benzene ring, a nitrogenous heteroaromatic ring, etc.; E represents an alkylene; X represents sulfoanilino, etc.; R represents a hydrogen atom, sulfo, carboxy, etc.; group F represents phenyl, a nitrogenous heteroaromatic ring, etc.; a is an integer of 1-6; b is 0.00-3.90, excluding 3.90, on average; c is 0.10-4.00, excluding 4.00, on average; and the sum of b and c is 1.00-4.00, excluding 4.00, on average.

Porphyrazine coloring matter, ink composition, recording method, and colored object

The present invention relates to a porphyrazine coloring matter or a salt thereof represented by the following formula (1) [wherein, the rings of A to D are each independently a benzene ring or a 6-membered nitrogen-containing heteroaromatic ring, E is alkylene, X is a sulfo-substituted anilino group or the like which may further have a substituent, Ris a C1-C6 alkyl group, b is 0.00 or more and less than 3.90 as an average value, c is 0.10 or more and less than 4.00 as an average value, and the sum of b and c is 1.00 or more and less than 4.00 as an average value]. The ink composition containing the porphyrazine coloring matter of the present invention has a good hue as a cyan ink, is excellent in various fastness properties, particularly in ozone fastness, allows a high print density, has properties hardly causing bronze phenomenon, and can provide a porphyrazine coloring matter suitable for inkjet recording and an ink composition containing this.
