An object is to provide a super-conducting coil and a magnetic resonance imaging device that are quench-free by reducing Joule heat generated upon occurrence of separation of members even in a high magnetic field. The super-conducting coil in accordance with the present invention includes a spool and a super-conducting wire wound around the spool. The coil further includes, between the spool and the super-conducting wire, a first resin layer containing thermoplastic resin, a second resin layer containing thermosetting resin, and a mixed layer, the mixed layer being positioned between the first resin layer and the second resin layer and containing a mixture of the thermoplastic resin and the thermosetting resin.

Super-conducting wire, super-conducting coil, and magnetic resonance imaging device

An image display device for special uses which improves a color resolution of a particular color and increases a color reproducibility is provided. In the image display device, an area in which a gradient is gentle is provided to a partial region of a gamma curve denoted by a relationship of an input value (gray level) and an output value (luminance relative value) so that chromaticity points on chromaticity coordinates are unevenly distributed, thereby improving a chromatic resolving power (color resolution) of a particular color. In this manner, the color reproducibility of special monitors which display images of a particular color range represented by a monitor for remote metical care and a monitor for surgical operation can be improved.

Image display device

An object of the present invention is to provide a moving picture displayable liquid crystal display device capable of attaining satisfactory moving picture characteristics, color reproducibility and reliability at the same time. A liquid crystal display device according to the present invention comprises a white light source having a blue phosphor, a green phosphor, and a red phosphor and having a light-on state and a light-off state in a single frame; and a liquid crystal display panel which controls an amount of transmitted light from the white light source for each pixel, and which has a color filter for allowing one of blue light, green light, and red light to be transmitted therethrough for each pixel, in which at least one type of the blue color phosphor, green color phosphor, and red color phosphor is a phosphor mixture composed of at least two phosphors having different host material composition, and phosphors having a luminescence center of the same element are used for the phosphor mixture of the same color.

Liquid crystal display device with the mixture of the plural kinds of green phosphors

A high-luminance plasma display panel has a plurality of discharge cells including a phosphor film emitting visible rays by excitation caused by ultraviolet light generated by the discharge of a discharge gas. Plasma display panel and plasma display apparatus using the same

A plasma display panel is provided with a discharge cell comprising a discharge space, a phosphor film contacting with the discharge space, a holding portion (barrier ribs and a dielectric layer) sectioning the discharge space and holding the phosphor film on an opposite side to the discharge space side, and gas filled in the discharge space and emitting ultraviolet light by discharge. The phosphor film comprises a phosphor layer emitting visible rays by excitation caused by ultraviolet light and a reflecting layer reflecting visible rays, the phosphor layer is provided between the reflecting layer and the discharge space, a film thickness of the reflecting layer is 15 &#x3bc;m or thinner, and a refractive index of the reflecting layer is 1.7 or higher.

Plasma display panel and plasma display apparatus

A liquid crystal display device by the use of such a high quality light source in order to suppress brightness distribution and chromaticity distribution of a light source. The liquid crystal display device comprises a white light source provided with a blue phosphor that emits blue light, a green phosphor that emits green light, and a red phosphor that emits red light and a liquid crystal display panel having color filters to adjust the amount of transmitted light from the white light source for every pixel and transmit any one of blue, green, and red lights for every pixel, where the red phosphor to be used is represented by a composition formula (Y,Gd,Eu)O. At this time, it is desirable that the conditions of 0.45&#x2266;x&#x2266;0.85 and 0.025&#x2266;y&#x2266;0.040 respectively are satisfied.

Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display including a blink backlight system light source and a liquid crystal panel for adjusting the amount of light transmitted from the light source. The light source is made of a plurality of light emitting tubes each having one or more kinds of phosphors, and having a turned-on state and a turned-off state within one frame. A luminance factor area of light from each of the phosphors is substantially equal to that of light from any other phosphor in at least one of a luminance rise time when the light source changes from the turned-off state to the turned-on state and a luminance fall time when the light source changes from the turned-on state to the turned-off state.

Liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display device includes a light source and a liquid crystal display panel. The light source includes a blue-emitting phosphor configured to emit blue light, a green-emitting phosphor configured to emit green light, and a red-emitting phosphor configured to emit red light. The liquid crystal display panel includes color filters configured to control the transmittance of light from the light source and transmit one of blue, green, and red light on a pixel basis. The green-emitting phosphor is represented by a compositional formula of (La,Tb,Ce)PO, wherein 'x' and 'y' are compositional ratios satisfying both the following conditions: 0.500&#x3c;(x+y)&#x3c;0.700 and 1.20&#x3c;(y/x)&#x3c;2.00. The compositional ratios &#x201c;x&#x201d; and &#x201c;y&#x201d; preferably satisfy the following conditions: 0.50&#x3c;(x+y)&#x3c;0.65 and 1.50&#x3c;(y/x)&#x3c;1.70.

To provide a high-quality liquid crystal display device that does not produce image sticking and that can realize high response speed, a third electrode is provided that is different from a common electrode or a pixel electrode, and a voltage applied to the third electrode is varied within one frame period to drive a liquid crystal using a strong electric field and a uniform horizontal electric field in an initial stage within one frame period, while driving the liquid crystal only with the uniform horizontal electric field in a latter stage within one frame period.

Liquid crystal display apparatus using IPS display mode with high response

A liquid crystal display device having a pair of substrates, at least one of the substrates being transparent, a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates, and pixel electrodes and common electrodes and active elements being arranged on at least one substrate between the pair of substrates. The liquid crystal of the liquid crystal layer is controlled to perform display by applying a voltage between the pixel electrode and the common electrode. An alignment layer is disposed on a surface in contact with the liquid crystal layer of each of the pair of substrates, and the alignment layer is made of an organic polymer selected from the group consisting of polyamic acid group polymers and polyimide ester group polymers having a relative imidization ratio above 60%.

A liquid crystal display device has a pair of substrates, at least one of the substrates being transparent; a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates; and pixel electrodes and common electrodes and active elements arranged on at least one substrate between the pair of substrates, wherein a pair of alignment layers are made of an organic polymer of polyamic acid group of polyamide ester group having a relative imidization ration above 60%; or at least one layer of an insulation film is interposed between the alignment layer in a side of the substrate having the group of electrodes formed thereon, and the pixel electrode and the common electrode disposed under the alignment layer to prevent occurrence of the sticking image and the after image by flattening the electrode portions to moderate the electric field concentration.
