A flat display apparatus includes a display unit; a housing configured to accommodate the display unit; a support member configured to support the housing; and a cooling device configured to radiate heat of a heating element which is mounted in the housing, wherein the cooling device includes a first far infrared ray transfer member which is thermally connected to the heating element in the housing and a second far infrared ray transfer member which is thermally connected to an external portion of the housing at a rear surface side, wherein a radiating surface of the first far infrared ray transfer member and an absorbing surface of the second far infrared ray transfer member are disposed to oppose each other with the housing interposed therebetween, and wherein heat radiated from the first far infrared ray transfer member is radiated at both plane surface of the second far infrared ray transfer member.

A light source includes a plurality of light emitting elements, and each light emitting element is disposed in such a manner that a direction of an optical axis of the light emitting element having a highest luminance is disposed at a predetermined inclination angle relative to a plane of the liquid crystal display. The optical guide member has an optical guide portion of a wedge shape having a first flat plane generally perpendicular to the optical axis of each light emitting element for receiving light from each light emitting element and a second flat plane having a predetermined angle relative to the optical axis and intersecting the first flat plane at an acute angle for reflecting light. A plurality of optical guide portions are disposed in a plane and formed integrally along a predetermined direction corresponding to the inclination direction of the light emitting elements.

An electronic equipment cooling system of the invention comprises: a heat receiver; a closed refrigerant circulation path (including: the heat receiver; a refrigerant condenser; a refrigerant pump; and a refrigerant tank); and a closed gas circulation path (including: the heat receiver; the refrigerant condenser; and a blower). The heat receiver includes: a heat receiver base contacting a heat generating component; a box; a gas flow space surrounded by the heat receiver base and box; a refrigerant inlet through which a liquid refrigerant dribbles down along an internal surface of the heat receiver base; a liquid refrigerant spreader used for spreading the liquid refrigerant thereacross and having a mesh portion with an opening for passing a vapor of the refrigerant into the gas flow space; a gas inlet through which a gas is fed from the blower; and a gas outlet for venting the gas containing the vapor of the refrigerant.

It is an object to provide a cooling device for optimally cooling a semiconductor device on a CPU blade which is detachable with respect to an electronic apparatus using the cooling device with compact structure for reducing power consumption. A cooling device for cooling a semiconductor device disposed on an electronic circuit substrate in a casing of an electronic apparatus, comprising a first cooling unit comprising a first heat absorbing portion and a first heat releasing portion, and a second cooling unit comprising a second heat absorbing portion and a second heat releasing portion, wherein the first heat absorbing portion is disposed in contact with the semiconductor device, the second heat absorbing portion is detachably disposed in contact with the first heat releasing portion, a phase-change refrigerant is contained in the first cooling unit, and the second heat releasing portion is disposed outside the casing.

Cooling device and electronic apparatus using the same

A disk case in which the downsizing of a disk is enabled, maintaining the ease of handling in the same manner as the current 8-cm disk cartridge, and that can be mounted on the current 12-cm drive by using a simplified adapter is provided. The shape of the disk case that involves an 8-cm disk is not a square but almost a circle. Further, the opening width of the disk case is 39 mm or more. An arm for ejecting the disk is arranged at the disk case opening side.

Disk case

A removable disk drive system for mounting a disk cartridge containing a disk, and adapted to be detachably connected to external equipment through a PC card slot therein specified under a PCMCIA standard, and thereby to be operative with the external equipment having the PC card slot. The removable disk drive system includes: a connector specified under the PCMCIA standard; a disk drive body having an external shape continuous with the connector provided on one side of the disk drive body, at least a portion of the disk drive body having an external shape complying with the PCMCIA standard so as to be insertable into the PC card slot when the disk is operational in the disk drive body; a tray pivotally attached on the disk drive body by a hinge disposed on a side of the disk drive body opposite the connector, for detachably receiving the disk cartridge, the tray having an opening for inserting the cartridge into the tray therethrough at an end portion of the tray on a connector side thereof or a position displaced toward the end portion, and a container continuous with the disk drive body for containing at least part of a recording and reproducing mechanism for recording information on and reproducing information from the disk contained in the disk cartridge on a side of the disk drive body opposite the connector.

A video camera with a VTR for recording/playback of images communicates with a camera/VTR station by means of an opto-electronic link. A first opto-electronic link operates when the camera is positioned away from the camera/VTR station, and a second opto-electronic link operates when the camera is positioned on the camera/VTR station. The first opto-electronic link operates when the video camera does not record.

As a method of increasing the storage capacity of a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus for recording and reproducing information to and from a magnetic tape in a cartridge, there is a helical scan recording method in which the magnetic tape is diagonally wound around a drum which rotates a magnetic head. With an apparatus adapted to this method, the disposition of the cartridge and the take-up reel for taking up the magnetic tape on the same plane arises a necessity of considerably bending the magnetic tape at the drum portion and, accordingly, the magnetic tape is damaged. In order to prevent the damage of the foregoing type, the tape passage surface from the cartridge to the drum and the tape passage from the drum to the take-up reel are formed by an angle at which the direction in which the magnetic tape is moved is changed due to winding of the magnetic tape around the drum so that the magnetic tape is not bent excessively. A threading device capable of three-dimensionally controlling the position of the magnetic tape in accordance with a predetermined tape passage is provided for the apparatus structured as described above. The threading device is formed by a link mechanism to be moved along the locus of a cam groove so that the three-dimensional position control can be performed.

Magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus

A video camera recorder having a watertight housing including a housing body, a housing bottom and a closure for closing an opening of the housing. The opening is watertightly closed by a watertight structure including an annular bead formed in the housing and a packing provided to the closure. An electronic view finder is watertightly isolated in a space defined between a partition wall, arranged within the housing, and the housing. A cover is provided between the closure and an electronic equipment, such as a video deck, disposed within the housing, and a packing is arranged between the housing and the cover so that the space surrounded by the cover and the housing is held watertightly. Alternatively, the gap between a portion of a video deck disposed in the housing and a housing is watertightly sealed, the portion of the video deck projecting from the housing the opening. A water absorbent or a water sensor is disposed in a recess formed in the housing.

A tape run control unit in the magnetic recording/reproducing apparatus is provided with a discrimination element and a control element. The discrimination element detects a stand-by time until a signal to be recorded is received in repositioning of the tape and generates a discrimination signal for discriminating the length of the stand-by time. The control element controls tape run driving unit such as a capstan motor during the reposition and controls the stop position of the tape such that a magnetic head scans the portion of the tape where no data is recorded. After completion of repositioning, furthermore, the control element works according to a discrimination signal so as to select the stop mode which involves the release of pinch roller when the stand-by time is long and to select the mode for simply stopping only the capstan when the stand-by time is short.

A first opto-electronic link operates when the camera is positioned away from the camera station, and a second opto-electronic link operates when the camera is positioned on the camera station. A tape cartridge is arranged so that when an upper lid of a pocket portion of the tape cartridge is in a position for opening the upper side of the pocket portion, the upper lid is positioned above an upper surface of a casing body so that a lower surface of the upper lid faces the upper surface of the casing body through a gap in which a member of a recording/reproduction apparatus for depressing the cartridge can be placed. When the upper lid is in the position for opening the upper side of the pocket, the cartridge depressing member of the recording/reproduction apparatus is placed in the gap to depress the cartridge, whereby the cartridge can be stably depressed to and mounted in a predetermined position in the recording/reproduction apparatus when the cartridge is loaded in the apparatus.
