A hair cutting device according to the present disclosure comprises an optical waveguide. The optical waveguide comprises a light irradiator. The light irradiator irradiates hair protruding from the skin with light to cut the hair. The refractive index of the light irradiator is smaller than the refractive index of the surface of the skin. As a result, options such as the material of the optical waveguide and the like can be increased. Furthermore, for example, when the skin is appropriately irradiated with light from the light irradiator, an action on the skin such as sterilization or activation can also be expected.

Hair cutting device and hair cutting system

A hair cutting device of the present disclosure comprises an optical waveguide and a holding member that holds the optical waveguide. The optical waveguide comprises a light irradiator. The light irradiator irradiates hair protruding from skin with light to cut the hair. The holding member holds the optical waveguide in such a way that the light irradiator is exposed from at least one surface. As a result, even when the hair or the skin comes in contact with the light irradiator, misalignment or the like of the optical waveguide hardly occurs. This results in the improved hair cutting device being provided.

A beauty instrument according to the present disclosure comprises a skin electrode disposed in a head, a grip electrode disposed in a grip, a voltage application circuit for applying a voltage between the skin electrode and the grip electrode to cause a current to flow between the skin electrode and the grip electrode through a human body, and a controller that controls the voltage application circuit. The controller comprises a touch detector that detects touch of a skin surface of the human body with the skin electrode. An electric shaver includes: a main body; an outer blade provided to an end of the main body and having a blade hole defined by a bar; and an inner blade provided inward of the outer blade and configured to reciprocate in a longitudinal direction of the outer blade to cut hair in the blade hole with the outer blade. The bar has a hair raising portion coming in contact with hair upon movement of the outer blade on a skin surface to raise hair up from the skin surface. A contact pressure on the skin surface to be exerted by the outer blade in a first portion of the outer blade is greater than that in a second portion of the outer blade. Hair raising performance in raising hair up from the skin surface in the first portion is smaller than hair raising performance in the second portion.
