A device for controlling a start of a vehicle includes a rotation speed obtaining unit that obtains an actual engine rotation speed of the engine, a target rotation speed computing unit that computes a target rotation speed of the engine in the slip control, a control target value computing unit that computes a control target value, which is a target value for controlling the engine rotation speed to the target rotation speed based on the actual engine rotation speed and the target rotation speed, and an instruction value computing unit that computes an instruction value for the lock-up clutch necessary to control the engine rotation speed to the control target value based on the control target value.

Vehicle startup control device and startup control method

First temporary capacity reduction control that when acceleration ON is judged during coasting lock-up, brings lock-up clutch () into slip state by decreasing torque transmission capacity of lock-up clutch and subsequently returns lock-up clutch to lock-up state by increasing torque transmission capacity is executed. Control unit performing second temporary capacity reduction control that when return of accelerator pedal depression is judged during the progress of returning to lock-up state, decreases torque transmission capacity again and subsequently returns lock-up clutch to lock-up state by increasing torque transmission capacity is provided. In second temporary capacity reduction control, torque transmission capacity is decreased with predetermined torque transmission capacity by which lock-up clutch is not fully disengaged being lower limit value. Abrupt engagement of lock-up clutch and engine racing can be therefore avoided when acceleration is changed from ON to OFF during control of lock-up clutch from disengagement or slip state to lock-up state.

Lockup clutch control device

An automatic transmission hydraulic control apparatus includes an oil pump driven by an engine, a forward clutch arranged to be engaged by an engagement pressure from the oil pump at a start of the vehicle, a hydraulic pressure sensing section configured to sense a hydraulic pressure in the automatic transmission, a filling start judging section configured to judge a start of filling to the forward clutch in accordance with the sensed hydraulic pressure; and an engagement pressure control section configured to control the engagement pressure to go through a filling phase and an engagement phase. The engagement pressure control section shifts from the filling phase to the engagement phase when a predetermined time elapses from the judgment of the start of the filling to the forward clutch.

Hydraulic control system for automatic transmission

A drive control system for an automotive vehicle includes an engine, an automatic transmission, a torque converter, a start clutch, an oil pump, a hydraulic pressure control unit, an engine control unit, an automatic engine stop/restart control unit and a torque transmission control unit configured to calculate target start clutch engagement time and torque based on an accelerator opening of the vehicle, calculate a target engine torque based on the target clutch engagement torque and cause the hydraulic control unit and the engine control unit to control the engagement state of the start clutch and the output torque of the engine according to the target clutch engagement time and torque and the target engine torque at a restart of the engine.

Vehicle drive control system and method

There is provided a starting clutch control apparatus which is capable of controlling transmission torque of a starting clutch according to changes in accelerator operated amount without preparing a plurality of data maps of torque coefficients in advance. A clutch controller determines a clutch instruction torque based on torque coefficient, engine speed, and engine speed correction amount, and controls the engagement state of the starting clutch according to the clutch instruction torque. Therefore, it is possible to control the engagement state of the starting clutch in response to sudden operation of an accelerator, and to finely control the degree of engine blow-up according to an accelerator operated amount. Only one data map for determining the torque coefficient according to a rotational speed ratio of a clutch input shaft to a clutch output shaft is required to be stored in a data storage section, and hence it is possible to prevent an increase in the amount of data stored in the data storage section.

Starting clutch control apparatus

In a parallel hybrid electric vehicle, when the difference in number of revolutions between an engine and a motor/generator is smaller than a predetermined value at starting of the vehicle, an ECU sets a predetermined torque correction amount in accordance with the relationship between an engine inertia and a motor/generator inertia. The ECU carries out correction of torque of one of the engine and the motor/generator in accordance with the predetermined torque correction amount as set.

Parallel hybrid electric vehicle

An electric torque converter mounted on a parallel hybrid vehicle employing a parallel hybrid system, using both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor for propulsion, includes an electric motor generator having a motor generator rotor and a motor generator stator coil, and a composition-and-distribution mechanism located between the engine and a transmission for combining torque produced by the engine and torque produced by the motor generator with each other and for mechanically distributing the torque produced by the engine into the motor generator and a transmission input shaft. A converter case includes a third casing member formed with a boss portion supporting a rotating member of the composition-and-distribution mechanism by a bearing, and partitioning the motor generator from the composition-and-distribution mechanism. Also provided is a rotor support including a substantially cylindrical outer support portion supporting thereon the motor generator rotor, a substantially cylindrical inner support portion whose inner periphery is fixedly connected to the rotating member, and a connection portion interconnecting the inner and outer support portions. A locknut is located on the outer periphery of the rotating member and mates with a first one of axial ends of the substantially cylindrical inner support portion, for pre-loading the bearing via the rotor support. A position sensor includes a resolver rotor located on the inner periphery of the substantially cylindrical outer support portion, and a resolver stator located on the outer periphery of the boss portion.

Electric torque converter mounted on parallel hybrid vehicle

An electric torque converter mounted on a parallel hybrid vehicle employing a parallel hybrid system, using both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor for propulsion, includes an electric motor generator, and a composition-and-distribution mechanism located between the engine and a transmission for mechanically combining torque produced by the engine and torque produced by the motor generator with each other and for mechanically distributing the torque produced by the engine into the motor generator and a transmission input shaft. A converter case of the electric torque converter has a first casing member partitioning the transmission from the electric torque converter, a second casing member located between the engine and the transmission for partitioning the electric torque converter from the exterior, and a third casing member partitioning the motor generator from the composition-and-distribution mechanism. The third casing member has a large-diameter portion fixed to the first casing member, a medium-diameter portion housing therein the composition-and-distribution mechanism and placing therearound a motor generator rotor so that part of the motor generator rotor overlaps with the composition-and-distribution mechanism in a radial direction, and a small-diameter portion whose inner periphery rotatably supports a motor generator rotor support arranged coaxially with the transmission input shaft.

In a parallel hybrid vehicle employing a parallel hybrid system, using both an internal combustion engine and an electric motor generator for propulsion, a desired motor/generator torque is map-retrieved based on both the engine speed and throttle opening from a predetermined characteristic map in a fashion of feedforward processing. The signal indicative of the desired motor/generator torque is subjected to a low-pass filter that passes signals included in a frequency band lower than an oscillation frequency of powertrain torsional vibrations to remove the powertrain vibration frequency components. The map is preprogrammed so that the desired motor/generator torque is set at zero in a specified speed range lower than an engine idle speed. In another specified speed range from the engine idle speed to a predetermined direct-coupling engine speed that permits the motor/generator to be directly coupled with the engine, a gain of the desired motor/generator torque is set to increase with an increase in the engine speed. In a specified speed range above the predetermined direct-coupling engine speed, the motor/generator is coupled directly with the engine, so that the motor/generator torque output produced from the motor/generator is substantially identical to the engine torque output.
