One can obtain finely divided polymer particles by dissolving a polymer in a water immiscible volatile solvent which has a boiling point lower than that of water, then dispersing the solution into an aqueous medium, and removing the solvent from the dispersed oil phase droplets.

Method of producing finely divided polymer particles

A method for forming images which comprises processing a silver halide color photographic light-sensitive element containing in the uppermost layer thereof a matting agent composed of methyl methacrylate-methacrylic acid copolymers having a methyl methacrylate/methacrylic acid molar ratio of 6:4 to 9:1 at a temperature above about 30.degree. C. The matting agent is capable of being dissolved into alkaline processing solutions and does not adversely affect the transparency and graininess of the images formed.

Method for forming images

A process for producing finely divided polymer particles which is characterized by using a water drop containing polymer emulsion which is produced by a process comprising dissolving a copolymer containing about 10 to about 70 mol% of a carboxyl group containing vinyl compound in a solvent mixture consisting of about 20 to about 90 weight% of sec-butanol or tert-butanol and about 10 to about 80% by weight of another hydrophobic organic solvent and dispersing the resultant solution in an aqueous medium.
