An ultrasonic-wave transmitter/receiver is provided that can achieve a structure with stabilized underwater orientation and improved detection accuracy at a low cost. The ultrasonic-wave transmitter/receiver of the present invention includes an ultrasonic transducer for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves, a bell-shaped case that houses the ultrasonic transducer, and a cable for suspending the case. The ultrasonic transducer is cylindrical and positioned at the center of the bottom of the case. In the gap between the inner peripheral surface of the case and the outer peripheral surface of the ultrasonic transducer, a weight is positioned to surround the ultrasonic transducer, such that its center of gravity is aligned with the center of the case. The gap in the lower region within the case is filled with a filler A, which also fixes the weight in place within the case.

Ultrasonic-wave transmitter/receiver

A flowmeter sensor can stably measure in a wide temperature range including one over 100° C. The flowmeter sensor includes an ultrasonic transducer, a pipe, and an acoustic prism. The acoustic prism has a bottom surface that is arranged in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the pipe and a front-side inclination surface that supports the ultrasonic transducer. The acoustic prism propagates ultrasonic waves from the ultrasonic transducer toward the fluid within the pipe. The pipe is made of a first heat-resistant resin having heat resistance in a temperature range of 90° C. to 200° C. and negative thermoacoustic characteristics in which the ultrasonic transmittance decreases as the temperature rises in such a temperature range. The acoustic prism is made of a second heat-resistant resin having heat resistance in the temperature range and positive thermoacoustic characteristics in which the ultrasonic transmittance increases as the temperature rises in such a temperature range.

The piezoelectric element includes multiple substantially sector-shaped oscillation parts that are divided by multiple grooves that communicate with each other at the central part and extend radially. The object of this invention is to provide an ultrasonic transducer for a measuring device capable of widening a frequency band suitable for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves while reducing the manufacturing cost. The ultrasonic transducer for a measuring device includes a substantially disc-shaped base material that serves too as an acoustic-matching layer and substantially disc-shaped piezoelectric element that is joined to the base material. The piezoelectric element is formed with grooves extending in the planar direction so that they do not cross one another, and the plurality of strip-shaped vibration units are arranged through the grooves. The length of the vibration unit becomes shorter as the distance from the center of the piezoelectric element increases. Then, the piezoelectric element vibrates in the thickness direction in the first-frequency band and vibrates in the radial direction in the second-frequency band, which is lower than the first-frequency band.

An electromechanical transformation device for an ultrasonic flow meter comprises an alkaline niobate piezoelectric ceramic composition and a rigid body adhered onto the major surface of the ceramic composition. The ceramic composition is made of crystal structures such as orthorhombic crystals formed at the side where the temperature is lower than the orthorhombic-to-tetragonal phase transition temperature, tetragonal crystals formed at the side where temperature is higher that the orthorhombic-to-tetragonal phase transition temperature as well as at the side where the temperature is lower than the tetragonal-to-cubic phase transition temperature, and the cubic crystals formed at the side where the temperature is higher than the tetragonal-to-cubic phase temperature. Young's modulus of the rigid is 60 GPa or more. The volume percent of the ceramic composition existing within a range where the distance from the adhesion point of the piezoelectric ceramic composition and the rigid body is 40% or more.

A sensor-clamp device for clamping a pipe of different outer-diameters promptly without having to do a time-consuming sensor-position adjustment includes a pair of ultrasonic-sensors incorporating an ultrasonic-transducer for sending and receiving ultrasonic-waves 'So' and further includes a supporting-plate on which is provided a sliding-mechanism. The pair of ultrasonic-sensors clamps the outer-wall of the pipe in which flows a fluid W. Of the supporting-plate, the pair of ultrasonic-sensors used in irradiating the ultrasonic-waves 'So' obliquely to the pipe are offset in the axial-line direction of the pipe and firmly placed face to face. The sliding-mechanism slides one of the pair of ultrasonic-sensors obliquely with respect to the axial-line direction of the pipe, thus making the sliding-mechanism to clamp the pipe of various outer-diameters.
