Battery electric vehicle includes an accelerator pedal, a shifter, a data management device that manages vehicle characteristic data, and a motor control device that controls an electric motor according to the vehicle characteristic data. The vehicle characteristic data is data configured to change the output characteristic of the electric motor with respect to the operation of the accelerator pedal in accordance with the operation position of the shifter. The vehicle characteristic data includes standard vehicle characteristic data and locked special vehicle characteristic data. The data management device is configured to unlock the special vehicle characteristic data in response to the unlocking condition requiring the predetermined action of the driver being satisfied.

Battery electric vehicle

A battery electric vehicle includes an electric motor as a driving source. The battery electric vehicle includes: a driving operation member that is used to drive the battery electric vehicle; a pseudo shifting operation member imitating an operation member that is used to perform a shifting operation of a manual transmission internal combustion engine vehicle; a processor that controls the battery electric vehicle according to operation of the driving operation member; and an in-vehicle battery that is charged with electrical energy generated when regenerative braking of the battery electric vehicle is applied. The processor executes, according to selection by a driver, a control mode in which operation of the pseudo shifting operation member is associated with torque of the electric motor.

A battery electric vehicle includes: a driving operation member configured to be used to drive the battery electric vehicle; and a pseudo shifting operation member that imitates an operation member configured to be used to perform a shifting operation of a manual transmission internal combustion engine vehicle. A controller that controls the battery electric vehicle is configured to execute, according to selection by a driver, a control mode in which an operation of the pseudo shifting operation member is associated with torque of the electric motor. The controller is further configured to impose, when in the control mode, a restriction on an operation the battery electric vehicle performs in response to the operation of the pseudo shifting operation member, the restriction being able to be removed or eased.

The electric vehicle of the present disclosure includes an accelerator pedal, a paddle type shifter, and a motor controller. The paddle type shifter is pre-registered with upshift operation, downshift operation, and mode switching operation. The motor controller switches a control mode of the electric motor between a manual mode and an automatic mode in response to the mode switching operation on the paddle type shifter. When the control mode is the automatic mode, the motor controller changes an output of the electric motor in accordance with the operation of the accelerator pedal. On the other hand, when the control mode is the manual mode, the motor controller changes an output characteristic of the electric motor with respect to the operation of the accelerator pedal in accordance with the upshift operation and the downshift operation of the paddle type shifter.
