A signal transmission system has a modulation signal converterthat generates a modulation signal using a Manchester code with a duty ratio of 50% in accordance with transmission data; a clock generatorthat generates a clock with the amount of delay with respect to the rising or falling edge of the modulation signal; and a data detectorthat generates received data by sampling the modulation signal in synchronization with the clock. Since the modulation signal convertergenerates the modulation signal by combining the Manchester code with the duty ratio of 50%, its duty ratio is always 50% independently of the transmission data, thereby preventing the DC offset of the modulation signal on the receiving side. Accordingly, it offers an advantage of achieving good communication quality with a simple circuit configuration without producing the DC offset in the modulation signal on the receiving side.

A signal source synchronization circuit includes: a first TDC circuit that measures a first path delay time which is a time difference between an input time of a trigger signal to a first input terminal and an input time of the trigger signal to a second input terminal; and a second TDC circuit that measures a second path delay time which is a time difference between an input time of the trigger signal to a first input terminal and an input time of the trigger signal to a second input terminal, wherein a first phase shifter adjustment circuit sets a phase adjustment amount corresponding to the first path delay time in a first phase shifter, and a second phase shifter adjustment circuit sets a phase adjustment amount corresponding to the second path delay time in a second phase shifter.

Signal source synchronization circuit

A two-terminal semiconductor device is formed on a semiconductor substrate. Two wiring patterns are respectively connected to terminals of the semiconductor device, and two electrode pads are respectively connected to the wiring patterns for connecting a signal input/output circuit formed on a separate substrate. Two parallel wiring patterns are respectively connected to the wiring patterns, and two reactance-circuit connection electrode pads are respectively connected to the parallel wiring patterns for electrically connecting a reactance circuit formed on the separate substrate separately from the signal input/output circuit.

Even harmonic mixer

A probe having a sufficient height is manufactured by selectively depositing, over the main surface of a wafer, a copper film in a region in which a metal film is to be formed and a region which will be outside an adhesion ring when a probe card is fabricated; forming the metal film, polyimide film, interconnect, another polyimide film, another interconnect and a further polyimide film; and then removing the wafer and copper film. Switch circuit

A voltage-controlled oscillator has a tuned circuit for controlling the oscillation frequency. The tuned circuit has a variable-capacitance element whose capacitance varies in response to a control voltage and a negative capacitance circuit whose impedance frequency characteristics have opposite characteristics to those of a normal capacitance, and which is connected to the variable-capacitance element. The configuration enables increasing the variation ratio corresponding to the control voltage of the combined capacitance composed of the variable-capacitance element and negative capacitance circuit, thereby broadening the oscillation frequency band.

Voltage-controlled oscillator

Provided is a pulse modulation circuit that improves the on/off operation and improves the on/off ratio of an output power of the entire pulse modulation circuit in the switching operation. The pulse modulation circuit inputs a local oscillation wave and a DC pulse signal, mixes a second harmonic wave of the local oscillation wave with the DC pulse signal, and outputs an RF pulse signal. The pulse modulation circuit includes: a switch that inputs the local oscillation wave and attenuates the local oscillation wave at an off time more than at an on time; and a harmonic mixer that inputs the local oscillation wave affected by the switch and the DC pulse signal, mixes the second harmonic wave of the local oscillation wave with the DC pulse signal, and outputs the RF pulse signal, in which the switch is allowed to conduct the switching operation together with the harmonic mixer according to the DC pulse signal.
